Swope Park Campus

Swope Park Campus is one of the southern neighborhoods in Kansas City, situated in close proximity to US-71. Mostly quiet and residential, the neighborhood doesn't have much to offer in terms of shopping or dining, but it does have a furrific park! Swope Park encompasses more than 1,800 acres. You will find multiple soccer fields, charming community gardens, and even a zoo here! Your dog must stay on-leash in the main park, but your pup is welcome to run free in the designated dog park. This single fenced area has tons of room to run and some shade, but no benches or drinking water.

Prairie Park

Prairie Park is a wonderful and pet-friendly residential neighborhood in the southern part of Lawrence, not far from the city center. Prairie Park Nature Center is located in the heart of the community. This natural area features about 100 acres of prairies, woodlands, and wetlands (it is Kansas, remember?), and a nice lake with plenty of animals and birds to watch. Pooches and their parents are welcome to have a walk around the property and pay a visit to the nature center. Your mutt should stay on the leash at all times. There are too many fragile animals to chase!

Pinckney

Pinckney is a central neighborhood in Lawrence, just across from the old town. Burcham Park is nestled along the banks of the Kansas River and near a residential area with a variety of estates. Pooches will love spending some time in Clinton Park, a family-friendly recreation area with shaded walking trails. Get your leash ready and enjoy a walk here, or share a sandwich in one of the picnic areas. Follow West 5th Street to the east and you will find Constant Park. This is another public park with a small playground and an opportunity to enjoy a long stroll with your best furry friend.

Parkplace

Perhaps one of the smallest neighborhoods in Shawnee, Parkplace is a quiet area centered on West 83rd Street. Just behind this residential area is where you'll find the expansive Shawnee Mission Park. This furrific park offers multiple walking and hiking trails, a lake with fishing and boating options, and even an outdoor theater! Your pup has never had a chance to sniff so much at once! The main area requires you to keep pooches on their leash; however, the off-leash park is a true paradise for hyper mutts dying to play with some pup peers and burn some energy!

Oak Tree Meadows

Oak Tree Meadows is a small neighborhood in the southwestern part of Overland Park, Kansas. Located just 20 minutes south of Mission, this friendly place offers a beautiful water reservoir and the expansive Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park. This is a very pawpular park with 7(!) ball fields and a fishing lake. If you love strolling with Fido, the walking loop and trails will be perfect for you. Need a little more exercise? The dog park is extremely spacious and occupies the central part of the main park. Benches and shade are provided, but drinking water and waste bags are on you!
