The main attraction here is the on-site speciality pet store, where you’ll find everything Fido could ever want or need, from dog food and treats to toys. Just make sure Fido’s on a leash while shopping with you.

Overland Park

The city of Overland Park, located just 5 miles southeast of Shawnee, is happy to welcome you and your pooch to the Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park. This pawesome park has a designated off-leash dog park that your pal will have tons of fun exploring. If you’re feeling adventurous, mosey into the wooded area near the dog park for some extra exploration. The park also offers playgrounds, fishing access, sporting fields, and so much more, making it the pawfect place to spend a day with your whole family. Just remember to keep your pal on a leash outside the dog park. You’ll also need to bring your own drinking water in the winter months.

Shawnee Mission Park

This Fido-friendly neighborhood is home to a humongous park called Shawnee Mission Park. This park has more than 1,600 acres for you and your leashed pal to explore! You’ll have access to miles of walking trails, dog-friendly beaches, open spaces, and a 200-acre lake. The best part is that there’s a designated dog park, and it covers 53 pawesome acres. Your pal will have tons of fun running around this wide open space. Human companions can enjoy archery, picnicking, boating, fishing, disc golf, horseback riding, bicycling, and so much more. Be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, because this is a great place to spend a day. This park is loved by locals and visitors alike, and is the most visited park in the entire state!

You can enjoy an all-American favorite or try something new at this burger joint. This Fido-friendly eatery has created a couple of custom burgers to please your palate. Try the Hot Chick, a scrumptious Cajun chicken sandwich. If that’s not hot enough, you’ll want to order the El Fuego and a side order of Big Bam’s famous tater tots. Just be sure not to feed Fido anything too spicy, since spicy foods can upset his stomach. He’s allowed to share a meal with you at the outdoor tables.
