South Leawood
Leawood is home to its very own dog park, and it's open every day from 6 AM to 10 PM. This puntastic, picturesque dog park is known as Leawoof Dog Park, and it has a wood-rail fence surrounding it. Leawoof is separated into little and big dog sections. In the big dog section, there is some agility equipment where your pooch can show off her skills! There are doggy water fountains in the park, and doggy bags are provided for visitors as well. Leawoof Dog Park sits along a series of wooded trails, and you and your dog can explore these trails on-leash if you wish!36

Stoll Park Center
The neighborhood of Stoll Park Center in western Overland Park, Kansas, is about a 15-minute drive from Leawood. This is where you'll find the Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park, a 79-acre public park with plenty of sports fields, a playground, and fishing facilities. Even better, there's a dog park that takes up seven acres of the park! This dog park is wooded and fenced in, but not divided into big and small dog sections, so dogs of all sizes play together. Visitors love how much parking is available at this park, and your dog can join you in other areas of the park if they're leashed.24

Calico Farms
The Wayside Waifs' Bark Park in Kansas City is just a 15-minute drive from Leawood. This dog park is in the neighborhood of Calico Farms in south Kansas City, and it sits on five acres of land. Wayside Waifs' Bark Park was built in 2003, and in 2016, a Courtesy Comfort Station was added to the park. This station provides shelter for park visitors, as well as vending machines and seating. The park has separate big and small dog sections, water stations, paw wash stations, lighting, and timeout kennels should your dog need one. You can purchase an annual or monthly pass for this park, or pay just $3 per visit.12

East Lee's Summit
About 20 minutes east of Leawood is Happy Tails Park in eastern Lee's Summit, Missouri. Lee's Summit is home to nearly 100,000 people, but people often travel from other towns to visit Happy Tails Park. This dog park was the first one in the city, and it takes up four acres of land. There is a separate small dog area, and in the large dog or general area, there is a 0.3-mile asphalt trail you can walk while your dog plays. There's also agility equipment and water available in the park. You'll find a children's playground right outside the fenced area, so feel free to bring the whole pack to play!
