Parkview Drive is a residential neighborhood in Central Cape Girardeau. The area is a skip and a hop from Southeast Missouri State University and pawlenty of old town attractions. Exploring with Fido? Check out Capaha Park. It’s the oldest park In Cape Girardeau, operating since 1914! The terrain is perfect for sports enthusiasts and dog owners! You can watch others playing baseball, or spend some time walking near the fishing pond. Or even try your paw at fishing! There are picnic facilities, too, but if you forgot to bring snacks, check out El Sol Mexican Restaurant, just down the street. It’s pet-friendly and offers excellent fare!

South Cape
What time is it? Time to pig out in South Cape! This is a welcoming and colorful neighborhood in Cape Girardeau with beautiful overlooks of the state border and the Mississippi River. It’s a well-developed commercial area with tons of pet-friendly riverfront restaurants. What does your puppy prefer? Are they into barbecue? Then Port Cape is your place! How about a cozy atmosphere and Italian fare? Bella Italia is a snifftastic family-owned joint with comfortable outdoor seating. Or maybe you're just starting your day and you need some pancakes? Sands Pancake House is a very simple joint, but the food is furrific!

Arena Park
Arena Park is a peaceful neighborhood in the western end of Cape Girardeau, MO. It’s a residential area located close to local supermarkets and fast-food restaurants. What about parks for Fido? The area is centered on a park! Arena Park is the heart of the neighborhood and a beautiful place to check out with your pooch! It’s a trendy place with a vast open space and occasional local events. The park has 16 softball fields and 60(!) picnic tables. Bring some snacks to share in the picnic areas. The neighborhood is also close to Cape Woods Conservation Area, a peaceful green spot with scenic views and trails.

Sherwood/ Briarwood
The entirely residential Sherwood/Briarwood neighborhood rests in the northernmost region of Cape Girardeau. It’s a beautiful and quiet place! You will have to go on a short walk to get to Kiwanis Park, a green spot with two playgrounds for the human kids and Dogtown for the fur-babies! What’s Dogtown? It’s the first dog-park opened in Cape Girardeau, which is still open to the public. The doggy spot features about an acre of fenced area with play and training equipment. Let your puppy off-leash to rush through the tunnel and chase other mutts! The park features water fountains, waste bags, seating, and picnic tables as well.
Nell Holcomb
Nell Holcomb is an expansive rural neighborhood in the northeastern part of Cape Girardeau. The area is home to several recreational spots. The parks you will want to visit with Fido are all set along E Cape Rock Drive. Start with Cape Rock Park, a beautiful place with scenic water overlooks. Keep the pup on-leash and move on to IR Kelso Wildlife Sanctuary Area. This is a real gem for nature lovers, with wildflowers, trees, and other native flora! You can finish at Twin Trees Park, a 62-acre spot with walking trails and a vast natural area to explore and sniff!
