Louisburg has a long history dating back to pre-Civil War days. Once known as Little St. Louis, the city adopted its current name in 1870. This small town is located in Miami County and has a close-knit feel that is shared by the entire community. Whether you are just planning a trip or you're looking to settle into a new area, Louisburg welcomes pets and their parents to revel in the quiet beauty of the city.

The area is primarily suburban, with classic charm and comfort not found in big cities. However, Louisburg is conveniently located just 20 minutes outside of Overland Park. Plus, since it is a city located just minutes away from the Kansas-Missouri state border, you'll get to enjoy perks from both sides!

Feeling stir-crazy? Even though it’s a small town, thankfully, Louisburg has no shortage of parks to visit. Try the Lewis-Young Park & Lake for a site with a view. Or, check out City Park in the middle of town for a more centrally located option. This local favorite sits under a canopy of 100-year-old oak trees! Some of the parks even boast hiking trails, both paved and unpaved, that you can explore with Fido (provided that your pup is on-leash).
