Somerset Ridge

Looking to add an avant-garde stop on your vacation through Kansas? Venture outside of Paola to Somerset Ridge Vineyard and Winery, where the family-owned company makes and bottles their local wine! Paola is straight shot west on SR-68 from Louisburg. The vineyard located on Somerset Ridge is pet-friendly and welcomes well-behaved dogs and their owners. Their only requirement: the dogs get along with their chickens! Paola is also home to Wallace Park, a multipurpose green space with plenty to offer residents. During colder months, you and Fido can snuggle up for a double feature at the local drive-in, Mid-Way Theatre!

South Hampton

Sitting right at the city limits is the neighborhood of South Hampton in Olathe, KS. Here, you’ll find a tight-knit housing community with its very own park area: Hampton Park. While this area may be more convenient for you, Fido is sure to pre-fur the Off-Leash Area at Heritage Park. The dog run is nestled in a 1,298-acre park, and has a whopping 30-acres designated solely to the four-legged inhabitants of Olathe! Residents from the neighboring cities and towns frequent this park as well, so you and Fido can catch up on community gossip. There is even a small pond to enjoy!

Kimberly Downs

A short 30-minute drive up SR-69 from Louisburg and you'll find yourself in the city of Overland Park. The quaint neighborhood of Kimberly Downs is nestled parallel to the Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park. Within it, you’ll find a 7-acre off-leash dog area pawfect for quick trips after work or on the weekends. You can also switch it up and go for a walk around the picturesque trail around the Stoll Park Lake – one of many within the park. If you work up an appetite, leash up Fido and grab a bite at a restaurant with outdoor service. Ricco’s Italian Bistro and Twisted Fresh are both around the block, and they serve pasta dishes and casual fares, respectively.

Brittany Ridge

We all know Texas can get hot in the summer! The Shawnee Mission Park Dog Off-Leash Area has its very own pond where pups can wet their paws and splash around with other canines. The bark park offers pups 53 acres to explore, complete with paved trails and wooded areas. You and your pup can hang out within the park or leash up and check out the other areas of the park. The Brittany Ridge community in pawticular is very accommodating of four-legged residents and strives to offer residents a higher standard of living. Whether you are visiting from a nearby city or here to stay, Shawnee is a great place to be!

Clearview City

Running alongside the banks of the Kansas River is the city of De Soto, KS. A few miles south is the vast parkland known as Kill Creek Park. It takes its name from the creek that spills out from the Kansas River and runs through it. Ultimately, it connects the central area of De Soto with the rural neighborhoods on the outskirts. Tucked away at the 95th Street access point is the Kill Creek Streamway Dog Park. The 19-acre fenced-in bark park is separate from the principal parkland and is complete with hiking trails, including a 2.8-mile trail of the same name.
