Cypress Park is a perfect place to spend some time with your favorite four legged pal. Grab his leash and head over for a delightful afternoon walk. If your pooch is more of an athletic type, jog around the paved path. If he’s not quite so ambitious, then just let him take it at his own pace. There’s also a wooded area adjacent to the park. Take time to walk among the mature trees and look for the local wildlife. Tradewinds Park is also nearby. Spanning over 600 acres, this park is one of the area’s largest. Follow the 1.75 miles of paved path for some pupperific exercise.

If you don’t feel like cooking, but don’t want to leave your pup home alone, Coconut Creek has you covered. Saito’s Japanese Steakhouse has a delicious selection of sushi, sashimi and, of course, steak.  Red Rock Oasis and Grill is another option. With burgers, salads, wings, and hot sandwiches, you can’t go wrong. 160 Degrees and The Muffuletta combines an American café and Italian bistro. Depending on your taste buds, nosh on a hot dog or pasta while sitting at a dog friendly outdoor table. Best of all, all these fabulous eateries offer outdoor seating where your furry friend can sit by your side.

Treat your canine companion to an afternoon in the park to see some happy tail wagging! Grab the leash and head over to the Winston Park neighborhood to pay a visit to Sabal Pines Park. This is Coconut’s Creek largest park and a community favorite, so there will be plenty of opportunity for socializing your pal. Take some laps around the paved walking path for some doggy cardio. Be sure to give your pup plenty of water after her exercise session. Picnic areas are also available, so pack a sandwich (and a treat for your pooch) and stay for lunch.

When Coconut Creek pups need to let loose, they head over to the Gary B. Jones Park for People and Pups. Located just 6 miles west in Tamarac, this off leash park provides a place for dogs to socialize, run, and play. The large dog area is called “Tam-a-Bark Run," and is designated for dogs weighing more than 25 pounds. Petite Pooches can dash around in their own section, also known as “Wiggley Field.”  Pet parents can enjoy the walking path or sit on one of the benches. Don’t worry if your buddy gets a little muddy, there is a pet washing station, so you can get rid of the mud before she gets into your car!

Is your pup begging for a walk? Head eight miles west to Tamarac and pay a visit to Tephord Park. Your pooch will absolutely love this beautiful park! Paved paths run through gorgeous landscaping and palm trees. You’ll have 1.5 miles of path for exercising and enjoying the company of your furry BFF. The park sits on the banks of the Stanahan River, so you’ll also enjoy waterfront scenery during your workout. If your pup still has energy to burn, hop on the Cypress Creek Greenway and continue your walk. There is little shade on the trail, so be sure to bring plenty of water to keep your pup cool.
