Coronado, California is just as sunny as the rest of this gorgeous, tail waggin’ state! This small city gets by with its two animal hospitals, as small to medium sized dogs and cats are the most popular pets around here.

A resort community, the many beaches here invite you to take your dog off leash as long as you are right there next to him enjoying the scenes yourself! The beaches surrounding the Naval Base feature on street parking with a healthy walk down to the sand. Be mindful of temperatures, as your dog’s paws could get hot quickly in the sand.

Both humans and canines are friendly and welcoming here. The beaches have fountains and hoses to wash all of the sand off of your dog, and there is a self-service dog wash just down the road where you can also pick up your best buddy’s favorite treats!

There are many dog-friendly dives here in town, such as the Bistro d’Asia, Island Pasta and Village Pizzeria. If you are craving something for your sweet tooth, the sweet shop Cupcakes and More offers outdoor seating and treats safe for your dog. If you are looking for the pawfect getaway, grab your towels and head to Coronado!

Didn't complain that my pittie got so excited and peed a little and made sure my puppy had fresh bedding in her kennel. The 3 kiddos can be a handful and she handled them great, keeping everyone happy and safe out walking. Thanks! "
