Less than 5 miles south of Saint Augustine lies the "paw-spurring" neighborhood of Saint Augustine Shores, Florida. The neighborhood also sits across The Mantazanas River from Saint Augustine Beaches. Pet parents love living in this neighborhood because it has quick access to the dog-friendly beaches across the water and over 150 miles of trails running up and down the coast. The community was developed by the Mackle Brothers in the late 1960s. The brothers wanted to preserve native Florida trees as they developed the area to protect over 100 acres of native land.

Dog owners love living in the relaxed neighborhood in Saint Augustine Shores. There's a pet shop in the neighborhood and dozens of veterinarians and pet groomers in the greater Saint Augustine area. Your dog will have everything he needs here! There are also two restaurants in the neighborhood with outside seating, so you can eat with your dog beside you. Tucked into the northeastern tip of the neighborhood is Canopy Shores Park. A quick drive south will land you in The Matanzas Forest Park — a lovely forest you can explore with Fido! If you head west, inland from the Fort Peyton Forest neighborhood, you can take your pup to Paws Dog Park for some off-leash fun.

Having a good time in this neighborhood has unlimited "pet-tential"; just grab the leash!
