North Firestone
Firestone, a town in Colorado located 35 miles north of Denver, is one of the pet-friendliest places to visit that's not far from Keenesburg. The northern part of town has several small public parks located near the local schools and a few convenience stores. If you find yourself here with your pup, you'll want to head straight for Asik’s Meadow Dog Park, located on Foxfire Street. This is a big and beautiful park, split into two sections for small and large breeds and offering plenty of space for leash-free fun. There's plenty of benches and shade; however, there are no drinking facilities or agility equipment

Located northwest of Denver, Longmont is a city and a home-rule municipality in Boulder and Weld Counties. This is one of the best pet-friendly places in the state, so the long drive is worth it! The trip to Union Reservoir Nature Area, located on the eastern border of the city, will take no more than 40 minutes. This beautiful pet-friendly retreat features, apart from a pet training area for drills and exercises, a fun area where pooches can roam off-leash – Union Reservoir Dog Beach, a pawesome place with easy access to the water and a clean beach with soft sand.

The eastern part of Longmont is full of recreational areas and retreats with dog parks. If you're driving from the city center, follow along East Mountain View Avenue to find a furrific place to play with your pup! Stephen Day Dog Park is nestled in a very pleasant and easy-to-find location: within the public park with walking trails and lots of trees. The dog park is fully fenced and features agility equipment and plenty of space for pups to run and romp off-leash. There are plenty of visitors throughout the day, so you and Fido are sure to sniff out some friends!

Stoney Ridge, a northern neighborhood of Longmont, is a pet-friendly place with a nice park and a shopping area with dining and entertainment venues near Main Street. Rough and Ready Public Park is tucked in the corner of East 21st Avenue and Alpine Street and is the pawfect place to enjoy a calm stroll with a leashed pup. The park also boasts a nice, but really small, dog park for some off-leash time! If all those outdoor activities get your stomach rumbling, Abo’s Pizza on Main Street is a great solution for hungry hounds and owners, with pet-friendly outdoor tables and mouthwatering slices!

Southwest Evans
Evans is a town in Weld County, Colorado, situated 30 miles north of Keenesburg and 56 miles from Denver. South Platte River outlines the southern border of the city. Head west from the river to find Freedom Park on 42nd Street. This is a great place to take your mutt to play with local pups and have some off-leash fun! The park is not very big, but has enough space for benches, drinking water fountains, and even some agility equipment to keep pooches in shape. Just remember to bring some waste baggies with you to help keep the park clean and tidy for everyone.
