The beautiful town of Roosevelt Gardens has lots of fun activities for both visiting dogs and pups that live in town! The town has one dog-friendly park, and it’s just a short drive from many other dog-friendly parks, beaches, and restaurants. While there are no veterinary clinics in Roosevelt Gardens itself, there are many good options in nearby Fort Lauderdale.
If you’re looking for a great place to take your dog for an on-leash walk, head to Plantation Heritage Park. This park is just five miles from Roosevelt Gardens, and it has a couple different trails you can explore with your dog. If you want to walk through groves of native trees, check out the Anne Kolb Memorial Trail. This trail passes by a tropical hardwood hammock, coastal strand forest, and pine flatwoods. The park also has a paved 1.25-mile fitness trail you can walk on with your pup. Bring water and doggy bags, and have a furrific day out at this park!
Want to spend the day at the beach with your dog? Head to Hollywood Dog Beach! Located 11 miles from Roosevelt Gardens, this beautiful white-sand beach allows dogs off-leash. While you’re here, you and your pup can swim, sunbathe, and take walks together. To use the beach, you’ll have to pay a small fee. Once you do that, you can spend as long as you like playing in the sand.You and your dog will always have fun here and in the many other dog-friendly attractions in and around Roosevelt Gardens!
This neighborhood is home to Roosevelt Gardens Park, a fun place to take your dog for an on-leash walk. This 5.06-acre neighborhood park has a concrete pathway that goes in a loop around the park. Along the way, it passes the park’s three playgrounds, two basketball courts, and a large field where your pup can roll around in the grass. Roosevelt Gardens Park also has a picnic area with charcoal grills you can use to grill burgers or hot dogs for you and your furry best friend. Bring some doggy bags and water with you, and have a pawesome time exploring this park!
If you want to enjoy one of Florida’s famous beaches with your dog, Fort Lauderdale Canine Beach is perfect for you. Located five miles from Roosevelt Gardens, this beach welcomes dogs on-leash. The beach is open on weekends only, and there’s a small fee to go on the beach. After paying this small fee, you can spend as long as you’d like on the beach, and you can play in the warm water or go for runs on the sand with your pup. Your pup will always have a pawsitively amazing time here! After the beach, continue your fun day out with lunch or dinner at The Parrot Lounge. This casual restaurant welcomes dogs at their outdoor tables, and your server will bring your dog a water bowl. While your dog enjoys their water, you can dine on locally made seafood dishes, flatbreads, burgers, and more.
Maple Ridge is home to Oakridge Dog Park, a fun-filled off-leash area. This park is eight miles from Roosevelt Gardens, and it has one huge fenced-in area with a big field where dogs can play with their new friends. If your pup gets thirsty while they’re playing, a doggy water fountain is available in the park. Bring a tennis ball or two, and have a furrific time playing here with your pup! If you’re hungry after the park, head to My Big Fat Greek Restaurant. Grab a table on their dog-friendly waterfront patio, and dine on traditional Greek seafood dishes, moussaka, kebobs, souvlaki, and much more.
If you’re looking for another great off-leash area for your pup, check out Happy Tails Dog Park. Located about five miles from Roosevelt Gardens, this five-acre dog park has three separate areas: one for large dogs, one for small dogs that weigh twenty-five pounds or less, and an exercise area filled with agility equipment. Doggy bags and water are also available throughout the park. If your dog is a good boy at the park, bring them over to The Three Beans Bakery for Dogs. This dog bakery offers tasty treats that have no preservatives and are corn-free. They also have doggy cakes that are perfect for special occasions. Your pup will love getting treats from this pawesome spot!
When you’re in this Davie neighborhood, don’t make the faux paw of missing Wolf Lake Park. This 50-acre park is 12 miles from Roosevelt Gardens, and it welcomes dogs on-leash. While you’re here, you and your dog can go for walks on the park’s one trail. This beautiful trail goes in a loop around Wolf Lake, and you’ll get amazing views throughout your whole walk. You may also get to see some native wildlife while you’re walking around the lake. Bring water and doggy bags with you, and enjoy spending the day with your pup in this beautiful neighborhood park.
