Mush Bluff / Foxwood
To experience the pawsome outdoors of the Georgia Coast, hop in the car with Fido and drive 30 minutes to the Crooked River State Park in nearby St. Marys. Comprising maritime forest and the Intracoastal Waterway, the Crooked River State Park offers visitors a myriad of recreational opportunities such as hiking, boating, birding, fishing, and geocaching. There are four dog-friendly trails for you and your pooch to explore, including the Sempervirens Trail that meanders through old-growth hardwoods and pine-oak forest. And since several animal species call the state park home, you may see gopher tortoises, raccoons, feral hogs, and armadillos during your hike.

Kingsland
Just 12 miles south of Woodbine in nearby Kingsland are two parks where your best friend can get some exercise. Take a leashed stroll on the paved walkways of the Kingsland Veterans Memorial Park, which is dedicated to all members of the United States Armed Forces. As you and Fido walk around the park, you'll come across memorial walls and monuments portraying the different branches of the military. The Kingsland Lions Park, located a mile away, features a walking trail that will take you and your pup past a playground, baseball fields, t-ball fields, tennis courts, and a basketball court.

East Waverly
If you and Fido are traveling to Woodbine along Spring Bluff Road and need to stretch your legs, make a pit stop at the Maple Ford Park. Located about 14 miles northeast of Woodbine, the Maple Ford Park in neighboring Waverly spans 40 acres, giving you and your pooch more than enough room to walk around. The park is home to athletic fields and courts, playground equipment, and a monument dedicated to Thiokol workers. There's also a screened pavilion with picnic tables where you can dig into a packed lunch. As always, keep your pooch on a leash and under control at all times.

Harrietts Bluff
Leash up and head to the Harrietts Bluff Community Park for a peaceful morning walk with Fido! Lots of space and a nature trail make this 21-acre park pawfect for tiring out pups with plenty of energy to spare. You'll find picnic tables scattered throughout the site, giving you and your pooch several spots to rest or just hang out. The Harrietts Bluff Community Park also houses athletic courts and an octagon-shaped pavilion with a kitchen. Don't forget to bring water so that you and your best friend can stay hydrated, and doggie waste bags to help keep the park clean!

Go for a relaxing riverside stroll with your pooch at the Satilla River Waterfront Park! Covering 3.2 acres on the shores of the Satilla River, this park features a public boat ramp, a floating fishing dock, covered picnic areas, and a wide boardwalk that serves as the starting point for the Woodbine Riverwalk. The boardwalk will lead you and Fido over a dense marsh along the river's edge before connecting to the Georgia Coast Rail-Trail, a former railroad bed that has been transformed into a concrete walkway. Spanning about 3 miles, the Woodbine section of the trail travels through dense woodlands with a view of historical homes before ending at Liza Rudolph Road.
