Saint Mary
The dog-friendly community of Saint Mary’s is located along the Florida-Georgia state line, and is only 30 miles from Dyal! The Tommy Casey Memorial Dog Park is a fun place to bring your pooch to have some off-leash fun in a securely fenced-in area. The park also provides an agility course, benches, shade trees and water. There are several restaurants and hotels in Saint Mary’s that accommodate Man’s Best Friend, including McGarvey’s Wee Pub, The Green Room Sicilian Café and Deli, and Larry’s Giant Subs. The Cumberland Island Inn & Suites, Cumberland Kings Bay Lodges, and Mariners Suites are the dog-friendly hotels in the area.

Grover Island
This scenic neighborhood is situated along Fancy Bluff Creek and the Cumberland Island National Seashore, which is about 35 miles north of Dyal. Crooked River State Park rests on 500 acres of natural forests, marshes, and bodies of water where they provide cottages, campsites, picnic areas, boat dock and ramp, nature center, playgrounds, paddling, miniature golfing, biking and hiking trails! Leashed dogs are allowed to enjoy all the park’s amenities; however, they are not allowed in the water. Cumberland Island National Seashore is a gorgeous coastal national park that is 9,800 acres of marshes, forests and beaches; dogs that are kept on-leash are allowed to enjoy the hiking and biking areas!24

Thirty miles east of Dyal, the very dog-friendly coastal community of Fernandina Beach provides gorgeous views and plenty of dining and entertainment! Amelia River Cruises & Charters provides a variety of fun cruises that allow leashed dogs to tag along for the ride. The Old Towne Carriage Company offers relaxing horse-drawn carriage tours around the city, and the best part is your fur baby can come (as long as they are well-behaved) to take in the sights of the city! Amelia Island
Amelia Island lies directly 28 miles east of Dyal, is easily accessible from Interstate 95, and provides locals and visitors gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean! The Nassau Humane Society Dog Park is a fun, off-leash dog park that is complete with pools, benches and designated areas from large and small pups! After your pooch wears himself out at the dog park, grab a bite to eat at Horizons or Bar Zin; they cater to canines and allow them to dine on the patio with you. If you plan on visiting from out of town with Fido in tow, there are several Airbnb rentals in the area that accommodate dogs.
