East of Jacksonville, Florida, is the beachfront city Neptune Beach on San Pablo Island, a quiet area both you and your pet can enjoy. In case of emergency, you’ll find an animal hospital only half an hour’s drive away that’s open seven days a week.
The beach, which bears the same name as the city, welcomes dogs before 9:00 AM and after 5:00 PM, so you can take your furry friend on an early morning or evening walk. Five minutes away from Neptune Beach is Atlantic Beach, which welcomes man’s best friend all times of the day. Remember to bring a leash no longer than twelve feet and doggie waste bags!
In less than half an hour, you can drive to Jacksonville’s 42-acre off-leash Dog Wood Park. You and your pup can bond over activities such as frisbee, nature walks, and swimming. If your pal gets his paws dirty during the fun, the park provides a doggy shower.
Jacksonville’s Confederate Point Dog Park, a local fenced-in off-leash dog park, is also half an hour’s drive away. The park’s fur-iendly amenities include doggie drinking fountains and waste disposal stations alongside benches and pavilions provided for human comfort. There is a separate area for small companions.
