If you prefer exploring some nature trails and hiking with your pooch by your side, head to J.F. Gregory Park in Richmond Hill. This park is a little bit further away from Darien, around 43 miles, but it offers plenty of activities for the whole family, so a trip there will be well worth it! If you decide to visit this park, make sure that your pup is on-leash at all times and that you responsibly clean up their mess. A clean, peaceful hike that follows a canal will lead to plenty of picnic areas that are just pawrfect for the whole family!

East Brunswick

North Glynn Dog Park is another pawesome park for your pooch to enjoy some off-leash playtime. The park can be found approximately 9 miles away from Darien, in Brunswick. A lot of happy doggie pawrents recommend this dog park and its many amenities, such as a shaded dog play area, running water, and shaded seating areas. There are separate, safely enclosed areas for different-sized furbabies. A water source and some water bowls are also provided in both of the areas. The park is very family-friendly and offers fields, playgrounds, and more fun activities for the whole family! This local favorite is definitely worth a visit.

Jekyll Island

If your pooch is a sand-lover and enjoys splashing around in the water, another beach where all of that (and more!) is pawssible close to Darien is the Jekyll Island Beach. The island has a rule that all dogs have to be leashed on the beach in order to ensure maximum safety for every visitor, both canine and human. Some areas of the island are prohibited to doggos, so make sure you check which areas are off-limits before visiting. The beaches where doggos are allowed don't tend to be very crowded, so you're in for a nice and peaceful experience. Make sure you bring waste baggies and plenty of fresh water with you! 

North Saint Simons Island

Twenty-seven miles from Darien, you can find a furrific place for your pup to hang out and play off-leash: Frederica Park Dog Park. This pawrk is suitable for those of you who want your pooches to run around in safely enclosed, separate areas for large and small breeds. Although the park is fairly small and modest, it offers the basic amenities needed for some good exercise. You can find bowls and fresh water in both of the fenced areas. For the dog owners, there are benches and shaded areas. Close to the park, there is also a children's playground so it's suitable for the whole family!

Kings Terrace

Doggies are allowed on Saint Simons Island beaches during the off-season months as long as they are under your voice control. The beach is located around 23 miles away from Darien in Saint Simons Island. It's your respawnsibility to clean up after your beloved pet and keep the beach clean! The beaches are very pet-friendly, and there is plenty of space for running, digging in the sand and meeting new fur friends! You have miles and miles of sandy beaches at your disposal here -- all you need to do is grab your pooch, some fresh water, and a frisbee, and enjoy the beautiful seaside.
