Originally named New Inverness, Darien is the second oldest planned city in the whole state. It's also the county seat of McIntosh County and situated along the coast of the Altamaha River. As one of the oldest places in the state, Darien has a rich history dating back to 1721, when the British colonies built one of the most well-known places on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places -- the Fort King George.

For the dog owners, there are benches and shaded areas. Close to the park, there is also a children's playground so it's suitable for the whole family!
