Load up Fido and visit one of the most pawsome neighborhoods around! Hutchinson’s South Lorraine Street/ East Avenue G neighborhood is only about two miles from South Hutchinson and home to the Hutchinson Dog Park! This furrific, fully enclosed off-leash area has two acres where your dog can run free and explore! The park has two separate grassy areas, one for large, active pups and another designated area for timid or small dogs. Both areas have covered seating areas, doggie cleanup stations and drinking water. For great leashed fun in this neighborhood, check out Carey Park, Shadduck Park and Elmdale Park where there are walking paths, playgrounds for kiddos and lots of grass.

W Ave A/ S Adams
Check out a pawsome park and trail in Hutchinson’s West Avenue A/ South Adams neighborhood, about two miles from South Hutchinson! Ashmede Park has tons of grass where you and your leashed pup can get some exercise, plus a serene pond with fishing access. There are tons of picnic tables in the sun if you and Fido want to soak up some rays, and in the shade of the park’s big beautiful trees. If you and your pup are in the mood for a nice, long walk, hop on the Jim P. Martinez-Sunflower Trail that runs through the north portion of the park. This 6.8-mile paved, multiuse trail winds throughout town, connecting several green spaces and providing you and your pup with a woofderful walking trail!

N Plum St/ E 30th Ave
Lace up your sneakers, clip on the leash and get ready for a furrific jaunt with your dog in Hutchinson’s North Plum Street/ East 30th Avenue neighborhood! About three miles from South Hutchinson, this pawsome neighborhood’s Rice Park is one of the most pawpular spots for dog walking for good reason! The park has a puptacular paved path that makes a woofderful loop that’s more than a mile in length. The path winds around tons of trees and open grassy areas, so there’s lots for Fido to sniff and see along the way! On the south end of the park, you and your dog can also connect to the 6.8-mile Jim P. Martinez-Sunflower Trail that meanders through this neighborhood.

N Severance St/ E 30th Ave
There’s tons of open space waiting for you and your pup in Hutchinson’s North Severance Street/ East 30th Avenue neighborhood, about three miles from South Hutchinson! This area’s huge community park, Fairgrounds Park, has plenty of elbow room for you and your leashed furry friend to exercise and play. Whether you and your pooch like to stroll on a paved path or romp in lush grass, this park has both! This pawsome park has big shady trees, a covered picnic area and benches next to the tennis courts where you and your pup can sit and watch a match! There’s also a playground and splash pad where two-legged kiddos will have a blast, plus ball fields and restrooms.
Careyville
There’s two puptastic places you and Fido will dig in Hutchinson’s Careyville neighborhood! About three miles from South Hutchinson, you and your leashed pup’s first stop should be at the Dillon Nature Center! This 100-acre natural space is home to hundreds of species of plants, wildflowers, trees and birds, making it a beautiful and exciting place for a walk with your four-legged friend! For a short, easy trail, check out the .29-mile Upper Pond Hard-Surface Trail. If you and your pup prefer a longer stroll, try the .86-mile Outer Loop Recreation Trail. Grandview Park is another pawesome fur-iendly community park in this neighborhood, too! There’s lots of open grass, picnic tables and a playground.
