Southeast Wichita

In a little over 20 minutes, you can drive from Goddard to Wichita, Kansas, and in the southeastern part of the city, there's a great dog park you'll want to add to your must visit list. The Chapin Dog Park is a fenced, off-leash park that has separate sections for large and small dogs. There isn't running water in the winter, so bring your own if you visit when it's cold. During the summer, there are kiddie pools set up for dogs to cool off, and the park also provides visitors with waste disposal items, benches, and shade decks for dogs.

East Wichita

Chisholm Creek is one of the largest parks of Wichita, and it's only a half-hour drive from Goddard. Located in eastern Wichita, the Chisholm Creek Pet Resort Pup Park is a paradise for dogs and humans. This ten-acre park is fenced in and requires a membership for the safety of all visitors. Within the dog park, there is lots of agility equipment, a pond for swimming, and so many opportunities for your dog to have fun. Although this park requires a membership, if you're a first-time visitor, you can call ahead to get a one-time free pass.

Benjamin Hills

Another one of Wichita's great dog parks is just 15 miles from Goddard, in the Benjamin Hills neighborhood. In addition to the dog park in this neighborhood, there are several nice restaurants in the area. The Meridian Dog Park is a large space divided into one area for large dogs and another for small dogs. This park also provides visitors with seating and waste disposal items, as well as water fountains for thirsty pups. Meridian Dog Park is surrounded by a high fence, and the entrance is double-gated, so you have space to remove your dog's leash before they enter the park.

Firethorne

The neighborhood of Firethorne is a half-hour drive from Goddard, in eastern Wichita. This new residential community has so much to offer its residents and those who are just passing through. This neighborhood is just minutes from several great restaurants as well as a premier shopping district and many great schools. Firethorne also has ponds, playgrounds, a swimming pool, and even its very own dog park! You must be a resident or a guest of a resident of the Firethorne community to visit this park, and you'll be impressed at how well-maintained the space is.

Carey Park

In about 45 minutes, you can drive from Goddard to the Carey Park recreational hub in Hutchinson, Kansas. This is also where you'll find the Hutchinson Dog Park, and you'll see it was worth the trip! This two-acre dog park has a section for large dogs as well as another section for small, shy, or senior pets. Both sides of the park have shade structures with lots of seating, and there is also running water in the park. You'll be amazed that an off-leash dog park can be this clean and green, and it's sure to keep you and your pooch coming back time and time again.
