To get the pass, you’ll have to fill out a form online and pay a one-time fee. Once you’re approved, you and your pup will be given your own key to the dog park. This safe and secure park is a wonderful place to bring your dog!

Taylortown

If you want to go on a fun hike with your dog, head to the Pyramid Mountain Historic Area. Dogs are allowed on-leash in this beautiful park, which is home to numerous trails that will take you high onto stunning, craggy peaks. If you’d like to climb to the summit of Pyramid Mountain, take the Pyramid Mountain Loop Trail. This 4.9-mile trail takes you past some of the park’s most famous features, including Tripod Rock, a large boulder that’s carefully balanced on two other, smaller boulders. No matter what trail you choose, you and are your pup are sure to have a great time hiking here.

Youngstown

Youngstown has a great off-leash dog area called Randolph Dog Park. This dog park is about 18 miles from Montville, and it has one large, fenced-in area where dogs can make new friends. The park also has equipment for your dog to play on, including ramps, tunnels, and climbable wooden structures. There are also doggy water fountains available here. After your dog is done playing at the park, continue your fun day out with lunch at Morris Tap and Grill. This restaurant has an eclectic menu that includes dishes from all around the world, from Asia to Italy. Dogs are allowed on this delicious restaurant’s outdoor patio.

Marshall Hill Road

This neighborhood is home to West Milford Dog Park, which is about 19 miles from Montville. This unique dog park is located on the property of locally-owned pet store Pequannock Feed & Pet Supply. The park has separate areas for large and small dogs, and there are fun obstacles for your dog to play on, including a tunnel and ramps. There’s also water available for your pup. If your dog is a good boy at the park, bring them into Pequannock Feed & Pet Supply and get them a tasty all-natural treat or a new toy!

Highland Avenue

If your pup loves going on long hikes, take them over to the Mills Reservation in Cedar Grove. This 157-acre park is about 13 miles from Montville, and it welcomes dogs on-leash. There are four main trails in the park, all of which go through beautiful woodland areas. One of the trails also climbs high onto a craggy cliff. On clear days, you’ll be able to see all the way to New York City from the top of this cliff. This lovely reservation has trails that are perfect for every hiker.
