The borough of Kinnelon has many activities for a family with a canine member. This small community of around 10,000 people has two veterinary clinics in the borough's boundaries which offer both routine and emergency care. Dozens of other veterinary clinics, including many specialty practices, are within a short few minutes' drive.
You and your pup have many interesting outdoor activities to experience together in and around Kinnelon. Silas Condict County Park has over 1,500 acres of recreational space. You and your leashed pup will find twelve miles of trails which range in difficulty from easy to difficult. The Bear Trail is a three-mile loop trail through tall trees, small creeks and up hillsides. In addition, Silas Condict Park has a 7-acre lake which is popular with boaters and anglers.
About six miles south of Kinnelon is Pyramid Mountain. This park has 1,500 acres of open green spaces, streams, and ten hiking trails. These trails take a person and leashed pup across streams and along rock formations. Turkey Mountain Trail is a 5.4-mile long trail of moderate difficulty. It is a minimally elevated ascent with a scenic apex. On most days, the skyline of New York City is visible at the summit. Dogs must remain on-leash while on the trails.
