Pine Ere Acres
Explore Little River's forest and marshland with Fido at the Vereen Memorial Gardens! This 115-acre, pet-friendly site offers 3 miles of nature trails and boardwalks that will take you and your pooch through botanical gardens and along the Intracoastal Waterway. In addition to the woofderful views, you'll also get to see various wildlife such as spotted deer, foxes, and crabs. The Vereen Memorial Gardens is a puptastic place to get some fresh air and exercise with your best friend. If you get hungry from walking around the Vereen Memorial Gardens, head half a mile northwest to Papa's Pizza Restaurant and grab an outdoor table with Fido.

Sunset Harbour
Head 8 minutes southwest of Little River to nearby North Myrtle Beach and go on a water adventure with the entire family, including Fido! Charter a boat with Living Large Party Barge and let Captain Joel take you around the Intracoastal Waterway on your own private tour. A half-day cruise includes a lesson about the area and its history, as well as a stop at an uninhabited island where your group can swim and have a picnic on a private beach, away from the crowds. Ocean Drive
About 15 minutes from Little River, McLean Park in neighboring North Myrtle Beach is a favorite among the local dogs and their furrents. While there is no off-leash area, McLean Park offers a half-mile walking path, elevation changes, lots of trees, and a 2-acre pond. You'll also find pet waste stations and a dog water fountain at this 10-acre park, making it a Fido-approved spot. After strolling around McLean Park, walk 5 minutes to the OD Lounge and grab a table at their dog-friendly outdoor cafe, where you and Fido can watch the traffic along Ocean Boulevard while you chow down on some pub grub.

Nixon
Situated on an island about 20 minutes from Little River, the Heritage Shores Nature Preserve is one of the most unique parks in the nearby city of North Myrtle Beach. Preserved in its natural state, the Heritage Shores Nature Preserve is pawfect for going on a peaceful walk in nature with your pooch. Walking paths, elevated boardwalks, and observation docks allow you and Fido to explore the 7-acre site, while interpretive signs throughout the park let you learn more about the flora and fauna in the area. There are also two picnic shelters where you and Fido can take a break and enjoy a packed lunch.
