Upper Arlington

If you're in Upper Arlington, you may be right around the corner from one of two wooftastic parks! Northam Park is a lovely green spot in the middle of the neighborhood where you and your pup are welcome to roam as long as leashes are involved. This area is frequented by local dog lovers, so you may just make some friends while you're there!

Fancyburg Park offers over 25 acres of quiet grounds, perfect for leashed walks. Dogs can run free after 8:00 pm, so head there at sundown if Fido needs to burn some steam. There are often dog training classes being run out of Fancyburg if your pup is looking to advance his education. After a visit to either of these lush, green parks your dog is sure to thank you.

Clintonville

One of the prettiest places in Columbus to spend quality time with your dog lies in Clintonville. Whetstone Park is a beautiful garden with walking trails that are open to dogs as long as they are leashed. Snouts and noses can stop and sniff the flowers all through this famous park, also known as the Columbus Park of Roses. This site makes for a great night walk, as the walkways through the park are lighted. Your dog will be overwhelmed with all of the fun that can be found at Whetstone, with a creek to swim in and trees as far as the eyes can see.

German Village

German Village is a neighborhood in Columbus with some great activities for you to partake in with your dog. The Scioto Audubon Dog Park has something for hounds of all sizes, with a designated agility area and a special section for small dogs only. The park is nice and big with lots of grass for pups to run around in. They have a watering station on site so you can keep your dog hydrated through all of the excitement. Benches are scattered through the park so that two-legged visitors can relax while the four-legged ones play.

The Lower Scioto Greenway offers some on-leash fun for both pups and owners. This trail is run by Rails to Trails, which means it comes with great parking and an informative map for easy use! Either option will make for a barktastic day with your doggy pal.

Short North

Dogs in Short North have not one, but two awesome dog parks to choose from! Wheeler Memorial Dog Park is fully fenced and filled with grassy hills. Your pooch can run wild through the trees at this park, but beware if it rains, as you will have one muddy woofer on your hands!

Goodale Park is made up of a main area where leashes are needed and a fenced in section just for dogs. This double gated portion of the park is the perfect place to bring your pup to burn off some energy and make some doggy pals.

The Interstate-670 Bikeway is a great trail with easy-to-access parking where you can bring your fur-baby for a hike, run, or just a casual stroll. This trail is a part of the Rails to Trails conservation effort, so it also has an info map to keep you and Rover on track.

If you'd like to spend some time in the pews, the Livingston United Methodist Church provides Doggy Sunday School. The church grounds turn into a pop-up dog park complete with trained supervision so you can enjoy a sermon knowing your dog is well taken care of. Repeat visitors get their very own doggy tag to add to their collars.

The Franklin Park Conservatory has paved trails where you can bring your pup for an easy walk. Downtown Columbus has tons of great options for dog themed activities.

Godown Dog Park

Columbus dog parks don’t get any better than Godown Dog Park. This spacious park offers acres of grassy goodness for pups to explore and enjoy. There’s a 1-acre small dog area and 4.5 acres for large dogs, with plenty of trees, grass, boulders, and dirt for your pup to sniff out. Two men and a dog lounging outdoors at a brewery

The only thing better than quenching your thirst with a brew or 2, is doing it with your fur-baby right by your side. And if you want to wet your whistle, you’ll find several dog-friendly breweries in Columbus where pups are welcomed with open arms. Here are a few venues well worth checking out.

BrewDog DogTap

BrewDog venues have a well-earned reputation as some of the best dog-friendly pubs around, and it’s no different in Columbus. But while it has multiple locations around Columbus, our particular favorite is BrewDog DogTap Columbus. This 42-acre site is home to a brewhouse, a craft beer museum, and some of the best brewery vibes anywhere in Columbus.

Your pup is welcome to join you on the patio while you eat, drink, and be merry. Even better, this site is also home to the 32-room DogHouse dog-friendly hotel. Rooms feature shower beers and in-room beer taps, making it the ideal destination for any dog-loving beer drinker.

Land-Grant Brewing Company

Next on our list of the best dog-friendly breweries in Columbus is Land-Grant Brewing Company. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome in the beautiful beer garden and patio area of its Columbus location, so your pup can sit by your side while you sip a House Beer Premium Lager or Penny Round German Pilsner. And with food trucks also on site, you’ll find plenty to enjoy here.

Holy Trinity Brewing Company

If you’d prefer to have water turned into beer rather than wine, you’ll feel right at home at Holy Trinity Brewing Company. This Columbus favorite is housed in a historic downtown building, and your leashed pup is more than welcome to join you while you wet your whistle. Just keep in mind that there are also cats at this brewery, so if your pup isn’t tolerant of felines, it’s best to leave them at home.
