Part of the greater Fort Pierce, the area is busy -- but not too busy, of course. It’s just right for you and Fido! For a relaxing stop with your pup pal, make your way to Heathcote Botanical Gardens. The small admission fee is well worth the price, as you are your pup can tread the paths there and enjoy the numerous plants available on display. With over one 100 tropical bonsai trees to marvel at, this garden hosts one of the most prolific bonsai collections in the United States. You’ll need to keep your darling dog leashed at all times, and be prepared to pick up any messy mishaps. Water bowls are provided throughout the property, making this the perfect stop on a hot and sunny day.
Your first stop should be the eastern part of Fort Pierce North, just a little ways towards the coast from central Fort Pierce North. This scenic location is where you’ll find Wildcat Cove Preserve and Dog Park. Keep your dog on a leash no longer than eight feet long, at least while you’re hiking the trails along the lagoon. The lagoon has sights that can’t be missed, and your pup will certainly have a ball -- a tennis ball, that is! Just bring plenty of cool drinking water and your trusty collapsible water bowl and be prepared to clean up after Fido.
Travel northeast a bit and pitter patter your pup's paws to East Fort Pierce, the place to be if you’re looking for a tasty treat -- especially if you’re a fan of burgers. Archie’s Seabreeze is one of the best burger joints in the state -- and perhaps the country! Here, you’ll find plenty of dog-friendly seating on the outdoor deck and friendly faces of both the human and canine variety. Your precious pup can join you on the expansive deck, where they’ll be treated like regular royalty by the wait staff and the other patrons of the restaurant. Your pup will receive water, and you can peruse the menu for a tasty treat for yourself!
