13th/ Lakeshore Dr
All pooches love daily exercise, which means you have got to head to Wildwood Park! This is a pawsome green spot in Crete where you can let your canine roll and roam on the grass. There are also lots of trees here that provide shade on hot and sunny days. In addition, be sure to take advantage of the amenities that are here, including a swimming pool and tennis courts. Another puptastic place is the Crete City Park! Here you can enjoy some exercise and playtime with your pooch, as well as the kid’s playground with the family.

Hickman Rd
For a pawsome day out with your pup, head on over to the puptown of Hickman! This puptastic place isn’t far from Crete, and is home to the Hickman Linear Park Trail. This is a 0.8 mile sniff-tastic trail that lets you and your canine explore together while exercising. It is lined with trees that provide some shade on a hot day, and it runs through Hickman City Park, which means that there is plenty grass for your pooch. In addition, the park offers sniff-tastic walking paths, baseball fields, a playground and tennis courts. If you get hungry, stop by 9 South CharGrill. Here you can get your paws into some delicious burgers, chicken, seafood and sandwiches throughout the day, and there are four outdoor tables on the patio that are dog friendly.

Sprague
To go on an adventure with your furry friend, jump in the car and head east from Crete to the puptown of Sprague! Here you will find the pawsome Bluestem Lake State Recreation Area where you can retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city with your canine. There is a 325 acre lake here with the oppawtunity to enjoy some fishing, as well as sniff-tastic trails that you can explore with your canine on foot. Plus, you are able to camp and picnic at Bluestem Lake State Recreation Area; so, why not make a family day of it?

Hallam
One of the best places for a road trip is the puptown of Hallam since it is home to the furrific Olive Creek State Recreation Area! This is a puptastic 612 acre park where you can retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city and go exploring with your pooch. Investigate the sniff-tastic trails together and wander through the woodlands, as well as check out the 175 acre lake that is here. There is a the oppawtunity to fish, and lots of different species can be found at this lake. Just be sure to bring some fresh water to drink for your adventure with your canine!
Wilderness Ridge
To stretch your and your pup’s legs, head on over to Lincoln! Here you can join the puptastic Homestead Trail, which is a sniff-tastic 40 mile route that followed the rail corridor of the abandoned Union Pacific. You can go exploring through nearby villages and enjoy the views of the acres of farmland that you pass on the way, as well as stop in some of the furrific puptowns. Since bikes can also use the Homestead Trail, it may be best to keep your beloved companion on leash during your adventure. In addition, be sure to bring some fresh water for your panting pup!
