There are a number of spaces you can take your pup in southern Chicago, with features you and Fido will love. None of them beat Hamilton Park though, a place that offers plenty to see, plenty to do, and space where you'll enjoy no matter the time of the year. This modest park is located in the neighborhood of Englewood.
Hamilton Park itself is pretty private, with a thick fence of trees that surround the entire perimeter of the park, providing plenty of shade and privacy to park goers. Parking is off the road along the south and north roads, so watch out for cars before bringing Fido. When you enter the park, you will immediately begin an easy-going walk on shady, paved trails that loop around the center and upper half of the park. Once on the center trail, you'll see the paved area that surrounds five baseball diamonds and grass fields, open for pups as long as no teams are playing.
Although there are plenty of benches that line the main trail, with picnic tables within the trees, you'll find more amenities on the northern half of the park, like water fountains, restrooms, a playground, trash bins, a community center, cover fields, and fenced-in tennis courts. Dogs are also welcome in the tennis courts when they are vacant. Grasslands and thick trees provide a neat and fun place to play in the area or relax after a long walk. Trails connect to all parts of the park leading back to a sidewalk that encompasses the area, making it easy to find your way back to your car.
Even while having to be on a leash, Fido will be happy to enjoy their day out at this park which provides all the space and amenities any good dog lover needs to make their pooch happy.
