Fido is ready to go outside, so what are you waiting for? Grab the leash and head out to the city of Chicago’s Hiawatha Park.
Situated in the Dunning community, Hiawatha Park offers parking spaces along any of the side streets or in a nearby parking garage. If you happen to live in the area, just take a short walk and you are there!
Check out the 12 acres of land that offer community engagement and socialization here. Fido will want to take a walk on the paved paths that crisscross throughout the grounds. They are level and perfect for all pup-abilities, and are also handicapped accessible. Take frequent breaks by sitting on the provided park benches along the way. They are shaded for your comfort to endure the hot and humid summer months. Afterwards, head to all the other features the park has to offer.
There is a play facility located in the western portion of the park, and sports fields in the eastern section. Tennis courts are fun to observe a match taking place, or take a few moments to watch the kiddies play on the extensive playground. The field clubhouse offers much needed year-round recreation to the neighborhood residents, though it is human only, and camps are popular here during the summer. You will find restrooms in the park’s clubhouse, and drinking fountains are operational outdoors during warmer weather. Make sure to take clean up mitts to keep this park pristine and pup-friendly for other pawtastic pups like yours!
If your pup is waiting at the door, then head to Hiawatha Park to let them enjoy some sunshine and fresh air in the city of Chicago!
