If your furry friend is itching for a walk, grab the leash and head over to Indian Road Park. This green space serves the pets and people of the Norwood Park Community. Even though it’s on the smaller side, Indian Road Park is a favorite spot of the locals.
The park’s fieldhouse offers several pawsome programs and
classes. Two legged children can come here for preschool, story time, or arts
and crafts. Older kids can take advantage of the fitness classes. Indian Road
Park has even more furrific amenities outside. The playground and splash pad
are well used and it’s not uncommon to see games in play on the basketball court
or baseball diamond.
While all of these activities are great, your pooch will
be more interested in the paved walking path. They’ll love meeting new faces as
they trot around the sidewalk. Take a couple laps around the park so they can
burn off some energy. If they prefer to feel grass beneath their paws, wander
out onto the open lawn. During fall and spring, the baseball diamond is used by
the local softball leagues on week nights. If the field is vacant,
feel free to roam around it with your fur baby.
There are a few benches scattered around the park, as well as some shade trees. After your doggo’s workout, let them sniff out the pawfect spot for a rest. You can throw a blanket down and have a picnic, or just chill out under a tree. Either way your pup will be happy just to be hanging out by your side! Don’t forget to bring some clean up bags and pick up whatever your pooch puts down. Also, it’s a good idea to have some water on hand. After cruising around this puptasitc park, your pooch will be ready for a drink!
