Margaret Donahue Park is a newly developed park in the Lake View neighborhood of Chicago. This family friendly park is geared towards small children, but you and your fur-babies are sure to enjoy the atmosphere here too. It’s a great place to bring the whole family to enjoy some quality time outdoors. The park is named after one of the first women executives in major league baseball. Be sure to play some ball in this park in her honor!
This park is known for being clean, safe, and well-maintained. Here you'll find a plethora of playground equipment for all ages, including a splash pad. Your doggo may be most interested in the large expanse of artificial turf to run and play on. There are manufactured hills as well, that are sure to give your pupper a workout. There is not much shade in the play areas of the park, but there are picnic tables and shelter canopies where you can cool off and take a breather. From the tables, you can get a good view of the whole park.
One of the charming features of this park is the Chicago touches, giving the park a local feel. These include re-creations of the Willis Tower, Hancock Building, and Historic Water Tower. On the artificial turf, you’ll find the painted logo of the Chicago Cubs.
Street parking in the area can be tricky, so why not walk to the park if possible? Your doggo will thank you for the extra fresh air and exercise. The park is surrounded by a fence to keep the children safe, but this does not mean you can take your dog off-leash. Please pick up after your pup, make sure that they stay under control, and always play well with others. Don’t forget the waste bags, and doggy drinking water if you’re sticking around for a while.
The Margaret Donahue Park gets families raving and tail wagging every time!
