A large, sprawling park in the city of Chicago offers an often, well-deserved respite from the congestion of city life. If you and your pup are itching to get out of the house and spend some time together, then head to Marquette Park which is pup-friendly and pawtastic!
Parking for Marquette Park is either on the side streets or in nearby garages. Located in the Chicago Lawn Community and the neighborhood by the same name, Marquette Park is easily accessed by residents and visitors alike.
Your pup will love its extensive grounds comprising over 300 acres. Wander along the paths that meander throughout for an over 2-mile hike, jog or stroll through the park’s grounds. Any fitness-level pup will love walking on these paths since they are level and paved. They are wheelchair accessible and offer the community a place to connect, exercise and relax. Landscaped features, fountains and sculptures dot the park, including lagoons and formal gardens. Take Fido for a run on an extended leash in some of the more out-of-the-way grassy areas; otherwise, a 6’ leash is mandatory on the walking paths.
With more amenities than any other park in the area, Marquette Park also offers a golf course, sports fields, pools, playgrounds and a concert venue. Don’t miss catching a heated game of tennis on the courts or enjoying a picnic with your furry friend in the designated picnic grove. Restrooms are located on site, as well as drinking fountains. Pup clean up stations are scattered about for your convenience. Please make use of these to keep the park clean.
Sneak away from the hurried nature of the city and stay for the day or an hour to experience all that Marquette Park has to offer you and you puptastic pal.
