Metcalfe Park is a lovely green space where pets and their people can enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. Located in the Grand Boulevard Community, it is the pawfect place for an afternoon stroll with your favorite four legged friend. This urban oasis was named after Ralph Metcalfe, a celebrated athlete and politician who greatly contributed to the community.
When they arrive, the first thing your doggo will want to
do is take a couple laps around the paved walking path. Depending on your pup’s athletic ability, walk,
jog, or run around the loop so they can get a furrific workout. They’ll love
the chance to stretch their four legs and get rid of some energy. The path
passes a grove of trees. Your pooch may want to stop and search for the perfect
stick or try to pick up on the scent of a squirrel. If not, they’ll still appreciate
the shade these trees offer.
If they prefer aimlessly wandering to taking laps, stroll around the open grass area so your pup's nose can get to work. If there are no games in play, the baseball field is a great place for your pal to romp around, on leash, of course. In addition to the baseball field, there is a large patch of grass inside the walking loop. Here your buddy will find even more trees to bark up.
Metcalfe Park also features a couple basketball courts, some tennis courts, and a playground. No matter where you and your pup meander in the park, be sure to always have a couple clean up bags ready to go. And since your pooch will definitely be thirsty after their workout, carry plenty of cold water for them. Your doggo will have an unfurgettable time at Metcalfe Park!
