No matter where you are in Monroe Park, you and Fido can enjoy the calming breeze that passes through the park. Besides the sounds of passing trains on the east side of the park, this park is pretty quiet thanks to its secluded location and dense trees around the park.
The unique part about this park is even in the secluded area that it's in, the park is completely fenced in with a metal fence, with few gates that are on the west and north side of the parks, where there is parking along the roads. After entering the park, the safe space provides a scenic landscape of baseball players using the two baseball diamonds in the bottom half the park, where open space and green fields surround the ballfields, and allow for plenty of space to run around or play some fetch with your pup. There is no paved path that connects the area, but the grass is well-maintained and short, which creates no hassles to walk over.
A covered picnic area is located in the northern half of the park. This side of the area is mostly paved, with a sandy terrain playground on the west side, a basketball court and a smaller child's playground on the east side of the area. There is a facility building with water fountains near it, with benches and trash bins available around the rest of the park, although you will need to bring your own clean-up bags. A bowl for easy drinking for your pup is helpful. Keep your adventurous pup leashed throughout this public park.
