Sometimes dogs living in the city need to escape to a quiet place and collect their canine thoughts. If your pooch needs a peaceful walk in a tree filled park, then it’s time for a visit to Palmer Square Park. Situated in the Logan Park Community, this park is just calling your pup’s name!
Palmer Square Park sprawls across a mere seven acres.
Even though it’s not a huge space, it's still a beloved spot for the community. It's not uncommon to see the people and pets of the
surrounding neighborhood cruising around this park getting some fresh air and
exercise. With your pooch by your side, stroll around the paved walkway that
circles the park. Just a few laps around the perimeter will give them a nice
workout. When they’re ready for a change of pace, wander around the grassy area
and let them cool down. They’ll be intrigued by all the trees and will want
to sniff around for the local squirrels.
You won’t find any sport courts or ball fields at Palmer
Square Park, but you will find an adorable Velveteen Rabbit themed playground.
Human children will love climbing on the leaf benches and tree stump seats.
There are even carved forest critters to admire. If your pup enjoys unique
urban art, swing by the A"Maze"ing Larvae of the Emerald Ash Borer, a
tree sculpture in the southeast corner of the park. See if your pal can
complete the maze on the side of the withered tree.
Since this park is on the smaller side, it’s more
important than ever to carry clean up bags and promptly pick up after your
pooch. After all, funky smells travel fast! Your four legged friend will also
be most grateful if you bring some water along. Your pup will definitely agree;
an afternoon in Palmer Square Park is time well spent!
