You can’t go wrong with an outdoor adventure with your furever friend in tow! The city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, offers beautiful Burholme Park for your enjoyment which is pup-friendly and pawtastic!
Located in the North East neighborhood, this park is easily accessible by car with street-side parking, or if you are planning to spend the entire day, check out the nearby garages. Take your pup’s leash in hand and head to one of the many entrances to enjoy some fun together.
Burholme Park features 82 acres of land for you to roam upon. Discover the many paved walkways which meander throughout the entire property for you and Fido to take a stroll. The park is large, so make sure to take advantage of its many park benches that dot the landscaped grounds. The historic Robert W. Ryerss Library and Museum, converted from a mansion in 1910, still stands here and offers a scenic backdrop for your visit. While you are walking, you will love seeing the sights of the surrounding cityscape. Bring a picnic lunch to share and enjoy the view. There are many shade trees which offer welcome relief from the harsh Philly summer sun that you and Fido can sit under.
Make sure to check out the park’s other amenities before heading home, which includes a family activity center with mini-golf, sports fields for the community to play on, and of course this park would not be complete without using its impressive hill for a sledding adventure in the winter. A playground for the kiddies makes this park a fun stop for the whole family. Restrooms and drinking fountains are located in the park for your convenience. Be sure to keep your furry friend on leash here and clean up after them.
Burholme Park might just be your favorite place to take your puptastic friend in the city of Philadelphia.
