Everybody knows that dogs and parks are a match made in heaven. Treat your canine pal to a walk in Ferhnill Park, you may just get a sloppy kiss of appreciation! Located in the Germantown neighborhood, this green space is the pawfect place for a little doggy cardio.
Fernhill Park is actually divided in two by the Roosevelt
Expressway, and both sections are worth visiting. In the northern portion of the
park, your doggo will find a pawsome paved pathway. It cuts right through the
middle of the fields and is surrounded by mature shade trees. Walk down this
sidewalk so your furry friend can get some much needed exercise. If they’d
rather aimlessly wander around a grassy field, veer off the path and take a
spin around the open lawn area. This section also has tennis and basketball
courts and a couple ball diamonds.
When your pal is ready for a change of scenery, head over
to the southern part of the park. Here they will find even more open lawn area
to explore and plenty more trees to mark. They may even sniff out a squirrel or
two. The walking path continues through this area. If your pooch needs a
break, find a bench and let them take a load off. There are also a couple more ball diamonds
available and there’s even a football field. This park truly has something for
everyone!
Help keep Fernhill Park smelling nice and fresh by
bringing some clean up bags and picking up whatever your pup puts down. It’s
also a good idea to bring some water along. Although there are plenty of shade
trees to keep your pooch cool, they’ll still need a long drink of water during
their visit. Your canine buddy will agree, an afternoon in Fernhill Park is
time well spent!
