Introduction

When we first heard about American Neo Bulls, we thought that they had to be a truly out of this world breed of dog to earn such an unconventional name. While these pups can't slow down time or make Hugo Weaving burst into a ray of light, they are very charming and endearing dogs who do just so happen to look great while rocking a pair of shades. American Neo Bulls is a hybrid dog that results from crossing an American Bulldog with a Neapolitan Mastiff. While American Neo Bulls lack the long drooping faces of their Mastiff parents, these breeds do retain both of their parent breeds' energy and activity levels.

Activity description
We imagine you've heard the phrase "try looking at things from a different perspective." Well, this activity takes that phrase to its logical extreme, as you and your puppy will be trying out a number of different physical activities at an incline. Playing frisbee, fetch, and jump rope on a slanted hill will seem like totally different games to a degree, and both you and your dog will develop your leg muscles in ways you wouldn't normally have playing on even ground. It doesn't cost much to get into this activity either, adding cost efficiency to another of its benefits.
Step
1
That's a stretch
We don't think it's much of a stretch to suggest that you and your Neo Bull oughta warm up before playing on a slanted hill; getting limbered up and making sure that your blood's flowing is a great way to avoid cramping up when things get intense. This step won't take you very long either - about a good five to ten minutes of stretching and light jogging on even ground will help you out a ton later on.
Step
2
No impact activities
These are the kinds of activities that are easy on the knees - or at least your knees in some cases. Playing frisbee, walking, and playing fetch are all activities where you won't have to do much running or jumping if you don't want to. Your dog will likely do all of that good stuff, but Neo Bulls were built for the rough and tumble life.
Step
3
Low impact activities
Despite what the name might imply, low impact activities refer to any kind of sport or game where at least one of your feet is off the ground at any given time - causing that foot to come back down to the ground hard as a result. We're talking about running, jump squatting, cartwheeling, and sprinting. You and your dog will be so sore if you try some of these activities out on an incline, but you'll have burned so much fat as a result.

Dog Weight Vest
Dog Parachute
Activity description
The same way how humans can train with weights and other pieces of equipment to help build their muscles, dogs increase their strength as well. American Neo Bulls are naturally a very strong breed of dog by default, so the goal here is to work with the potential nature has already given your dog so that they can be the best they can be. Early on, your dog will mostly be making use of a weighted dog vest and other more accessible pieces of equipment. Should you choose to take things further though, your dog can even use a specialized parachute for strength training purposes.
Step
1
Get familiar with your equipment
For a lot of you out there, we imagine the first time you've heard about a weighted dog vest may have been when we mentioned it in the description of this activity. There's no shame in setting aside some extra time so that you and your dog can get used to the equipment you've just got for your American Neo Bull. First, get your willing pup used to wearing the vest around the house a little while each day.
Step
2
Light to heavy weight
That's kind of the operating principle when it comes to handling heavy workout equipment in general; don't try to have your dog pull or carry weight that's really heavy from the get go. Instead, start off light and gradually increase the weight your dog's working out with over time. Once your pup has accepted the vest, gradually add weight gradually to a reasonable level so that they can get used to the extra poundage with each exercise session.

Dog Leash

Weave Poles
Activity description
While we won't claim that your dog will become as agile as the characters from the Matrix after the two of you successfully complete this activity, we can say that the bond between the both of you will be a lot stronger. Agility training is meant to help your dog become much more fleet-footed by having them engage in a number of activities that'll test their reflexes, speed, and endurance. The sorts of things your dog will be doing while training in agility can be as simple as jumping over hurdles or as complex as running whole obstacle courses - it really depends on how far down the rabbit hole you want to take your dog's training.
Step
1
Agility training basics
Helping your dog become more agile is the closest they'll get to pulling off the sort of crazy, gravity-defying feats Neo and company pulled off in the Matrix trilogy; your dog will be able to improve their reflexes and speed by maneuvering through the obstacles of an agility training course repeatedly. Agility training obstacle courses are usually set up by hand and consist of multiple different activities that dogs are to try and run through as quickly, and with as few mistakes, as possible. Teach your dog to run over low hurdles or set up a row of weave poles and have them slowly follow you through the line until they get the idea.
Step
2
Best practices
We've found that it helps to figure out which particular aspect of agility training your dog struggles with so that you can zero in on it during training; if you learn that your dog has trouble jumping through hoops, you can help them improve in that area by solely practicing with hoops for about a week's time. We've found that it's best to train in specific areas as opposed to having a dog try to train for the entire obstacle course all at once.

Scavenger Hunting

This activity is great because you can try it out at home or outdoors; all you really need to do is get a handful of items that your dog likes to fetch for you and hide them out of your dog's field of vision. When the goodies are all good and stashed away, get your dog and go on a scavenger hunt together.

Dress Up

We briefly joked about how dopey your Neo Bull would look if you decked them out with some glasses but, in all seriousness, we definitely think you should make it a habit to play dress up with your Neo Bull. these little guys tend not to mind being outfitted with different kinds of clothes, so get creative and take lots of pictures!

Conclusion

If you're looking for a brave and loyal pet to adopt, we definitely hope this article has convinced you that the American Neo Bull just may be "The One" dog you've been searching for. American Neo Bulls can learn to engage in a number of other activities that we weren't able to fit on this list, but you won't really know which kinds of activities they favor until you get out there and introduce your dog to new things. We're big on safety around here at Wag! so we'll always encourage you to use your best judgement when you want to try something new with your Neo Bull.
