Activity description
Chilean Fox Terriers form very strong bonds with their owners and they are very desperate for attention from those that they love. Due to this, they definitely do not like being left alone. Chilean Fox Terriers can become destructive and act erratically when their owners leave them behind, a behavior you certainly do not want. However, everyone has errands to run and places to go at some point so what can you do? Well, you can bring your pup along for the ride! Having your pup join you when you leave the house is free and can be done no matter what the weather, so grab that pup right now and go!
Step
1
Lunch date
There are plenty of restaurants that will welcome dogs and make for the perfect place to dine with your pup. Look for restaurants that offer outdoor seating so that your pup can enjoy some fresh air while you eat. See if there is anything on the menu that your dog may enjoy a taste of as well - it is their special trip too, after all!
Step
2
Pet store
Take your dog shopping for some special treats just for them. Your dog will love walking the aisles, sniffing at different bags of food and testing out a few squeaky toys along the way. Most pet stores love having dogs visit in person but always have your dog on a leash so that they remain in your control while you shop.
Step
3
Pet bakery
There are a surprising amount of bakeries that cater specifically to dogs or offer a selection of doggy baked goods. Look in your area to see if you can find one close by as this is the perfect place to go with your Chilean Fox Terrier. After all, what is better than spending a day with you and getting a freshly made doggy cupcake? Nothing!

Remote Controlled Car
Laser Pointer
Flirt Pole
Activity description
Chilean Fox Terriers were used for decades to chase (you guessed it) foxes. This means that their drive to hunt small animals is alive and well. In fact, you are probably well aware that your Chilean Fox Terrier is obsessed with chasing small objects and animals- that is totally normal! This activity will show you a few new things that you can have your pup chase in order to satisfy that need. All of these steps can be done inside making them perfect for all weather and, while you will need to purchase a few toys, they are all fairly inexpensive.
Step
1
Flirt pole
A flirt pole is a simple stick that has a ribbon hanging off the end. When you wave the stick around, the ribbon will flow as well, intriguing your dog immediately. So have a seat on the couch and dangle the flirt pole in front of your dog, pulling it away right before they grab it. Your Chilean Fox Terrier won't be able to take their eyes off of this toy!
Step
2
Laser pointer
Find a laser pointer that is designed for dog and cat play and is therefore safe for your pup to stare directly at (as that is exactly what your Chilean Fox Terrier will do). Turn the light on and wave it around the floor. When your dog leaps toward the dot, turn the light off and ask your pup, "where did it go?" They will be confused but also excited. Turn the light on again and let your pup try to catch something that will always be out of their reach.
Step
3
Remote Controlled Car
Buy an inexpensive kid's remote controlled car and place it down on level ground. With your Chilean Fox Terrier watching, make the car move forward. When your dog starts chasing the car, make it go in all different directions, keeping it away from your dog. See how long it takes for your dog to outsmart you and get the toy.

Tennis Ball Thrower
Tennis Balls
Activity description
Keeping true to their background as a hunting dog, Chilean Fox Terriers love playing fetch as it is just like chasing and catching a small animal. However, fetch is a much more humane and accepted way to utilize your dogs hunting instincts. Fetch can get a little repetitive for an owner though, and while your Chilean Fox Terrier may be excited about every single ball you throw, you may want a little variety in the game. These varied ways of playing fetch will help you find new ways to play and they are all fairly inexpensive, too. On the next sunny day, head outside to give one of these fetch games a try!
Step
1
Far fetch
Even the strongest person can only throw a tennis ball so far. Luckily, there is an invention which will hurl a tennis ball much farther and faster than a human can, something you should definitely purchase. Launch the tennis ball for your Chilean Fox Terrier and watch those little legs move as they sprint after the ball, returning to you out of breath and happy, ready to run again.
Step
2
Frisbee
While it may seem like frisbee and fetch with a regular old ball are very similar, think again. When you toss a frisbee to your Chilean Fox Terrier, it will hover in the air, allowing your dog to jump up and catch it with ease. This floating motion will excite your pup and bring something new to the table for you as well - it can take a lot of practice to throw a frisbee perfectly!
Step
3
Water ball
When the weather turns hot, you will need a way to cool down your dog. Chilean Fox Terriers are big fans of water so they will love being splashed to keep cool. Soak a tennis ball in fresh, cold water then throw! When the ball hits the ground or your dog's mouth, the water will splash and give your dog a very nice and refreshing surprise!

Have your Chilean Fox Terrier make friends at a young age in order to curb any dominant behavior. Keep your dog around others and allow them to sniff and play as much as they'd like!
