Activity description
Labollies have yet to be studied thoroughly as the breed hasn't been around that long just yet. However, one trait that many Labollie owners report is their dogs love to dig. Now, this can be troublesome to many owners who like their yard to be hole-free, yet how can you get your dog to stop? By training them to dig in certain locations of course! While you can teach your Labollie to stop digging completely, this would also harm their natural instinct which tells them to dig some holes! It feels good on their paws and makes them happy so rather than stopping this habit, just curb it a little. Doing so is free and easy to do!
Step
1
Beach dig
Bring your Labollie to a nearby dog-friendly beach and let them dig to their heart's content. Help your dog dig a big hole and see how big the two of you can make it! Or you can just sit back and let your dog go. When on a beach, any hole can easily be refilled with soft sand or just left for the next dog to come by and make it even bigger! One thing is true: your pup will love the feeling of sand beneath their paws.
Step
2
Fresh dirt
Rather than have your Labollie dig a hole in your ground, overturning your grass or garden, why not give them their own loose soil to dig through? Pour a bag of fresh dirt in a corner for your dog to dig, making the spot their own. This way, your dog won't be digging down into the soil, just through a pile of dirt! Keep the fresh dirt to the side of your yard and that can just be your "dirt spot"! The things you do for your Labollie...
Step
3
Indoor dig
If your dog is dying to dig when they are inside, throw a bunch of blankets on the floor and let them have at it. Your dog will enjoy digging through the loose blankets just as much as they would like digging outside. Your Labollie is likely to dig in the blankets, nuzzle them around with their nose and eventually curl up into a cozy ball. What a perfect way to wear out your happy, digging loving pup!

Chew Toys
Activity description
Both Labrador Retrievers and Collies are big fans of chewing which means that the same is likely true for your Labollie. While chewing is a natural part of being a dog, it isn't always the best thing for an owner especially if your Labollie's chewing is directed somewhere bad - like your furniture for example. While most Labollies can easily be trained not to chew, you still want to give them the opportunity to chew things as it will benefit their oral health and satisfy their natural need. Now comes the fun part - finding your Labollies favorite thing to chew on! Invest a little money on safe, chewable items that your pal can chew on anywhere, anytime!
Step
1
Chew toy
There are hundreds of chew toys for dogs that you can find in pet stores or order online. From rubber balls to nylabones, Kongs to stuffed animals, there is bound to be a chew toy that your dog loves. Grab a few the next time you are at the store and let your dog try each, deciding which they like. Look for chew toys that are durable and also pass safety regulations in case your dog happens to eat a piece by accident!
Step
2
Wood
There is nothing quite like chewing on a piece of wood (that is also why your dog may go after your furniture!). Find a nice big stick for your do to chew on and watch how happy it makes them. Make sure to take the stick away if small pieces start to splinter off and just get your dog a new stick at that point. This is the best free way to entertain a Labollie ever!
Step
3
Bones
Dogs absolutely love bones. They taste good, they feel good on their teeth to chew and hey, they also clean your Labollies teeth too! However, you want to make sure you give your pup the right kind of bone. Poultry and pork bone or any kind of cooked bone is completely off limits as they splinter easily. Opt for raw meat bones which are good for your dog and something that they will love.

Collar

Activity description
While Labollies don't need an extensive amount of exercise each day, they do still benefit from a few good walks or some time to run around in your yard. Although walking is a free form of exercise, this gets boring after a while. You have walked the same route a hundred times and could likely do it with your eyes closed. Well, guess what, your Labollie could too! Exercising your dog doesn't have to be boring or expensive and if you are out of ideas as to how to make it new and exciting, it is time to play follow the dog. That's right, no more decisions on where to walk for you! It's your Labollies turn.
Step
1
Location, location
Find a new location where you and your pup can go for your next outing. You don't have to go anywhere far, just a new neighborhood or park will do. The idea is to give you and your Labollie a new starting point for your adventure. If you don't want to begin somewhere new, it is okay to start at home, you'll just really have to follow the next few steps to make the game exciting.
Step
2
Follow the dog
Once your dog is on their leash and ready to go, take a step forward and start walking but this time, let your dog take the lead. Don't pull on the leash, don't tell your dog which direction to go, just follow them wherever they wander! Get to a crossroad in the sidewalk, see which way your dog goes. Is your dog sniffing something on the ground that makes them turn around? Follow them! Your Labollie is in control!
Step
3
Home?
Follow your Labollie wherever they take you and enjoy the ride. With no need to think about where you are walking, you are free to look up, enjoy the scenery and relax while watching your pup have a whole lot of fun. The only problem with playing follow the dog is finding your way back home. "Did we turn left at that last block or did we come from the right...".
