Activity description

Because both the Mini Pinscher and the Beagle are excellent hunting dogs, it is only natural that the Meagle will be inheriting their parent breed’s keen sense of smell. To stimulate your dog’s senses and put their scent to good use, a good game to play is “find the treat”. As its name suggests, this activity involves you hiding a treat somewhere while your dog needs to find it. There are many variations to this game and you can do it however you please. One of the popular ways to play is by using cardboard boxes to hide the treat. What’s awesome about this game is that it helps keep your dog physically and mentally stimulated without having to leave your home.

Step
1
Get the materials needed
To play the “find the treat” game, you will need a couple of cardboard boxes and some treats for your dog. Ideally, you should choose a treat that has a strong odor, such as liver bites. The potent scent of the treats will make it easier for your dog to locate them.
Step
2
Hide the treats
To start, place your dog in another room and ask them to stay so that they will not see where you hid the treats. Then, in the other room where the game will be played, place treats in a few of the boxes. In the beginning, you can leave the boxes open so that your dog will find the treat easily.
Step
3
Find the treats
Call your Meagle into the room and let them start finding the treat. They should be able to easily finish up the hidden treats at the start. Once your clever pooch gets a hang of the game, you can up the ante by closing all boxes and having your dog rely on their scent to find the treats. You can also make it more challenging by combining the treats with other scented items such as dog-safe essential oils.

Activity description

Halloween is one of the most celebrated holidays in the United States and can be quite a big deal during the year. A reason why this holiday is so popular is due to the idea of dressing up and going trick-or-treating. But why limit Halloween to humans? Your cute Meagle can also take part in this fun holiday by playing dress up and charming everyone they see. If you think dogs are cute in their natural state, you will find them even more adorable in costume. You can also take your Foodle with you while trick-or-treating. This can serve as a form of socialization since your dog gets exposed to new people and environments.

Step
1
Find the perfect costume
How are you supposed to go trick-or-treating without having a costume? This goes for both you and your pooch. Months or weeks ahead of Halloween, you should already be looking for the perfect costume for your pooch. You can easily buy pet costumes online or in pet stores. If you don’t want to spend a fortune for a costume, you can go ahead and make your own.
Step
2
Go trick-or-treating
On the day of Halloween, dress your dog up. Then, with your dog on a leash, get out of the house and go knocking on the doors around your neighborhood. Your neighbors might even have some extra treats for your four-legged companion. Also, allow your dog to socialize with the people you meet along the way.

Activity description

The Meagle is a dog breed that requires a moderate amount of exercise in order to stay satisfied and healthy. In fact, a regular 30 to 45 minute walk on a daily basis should be enough exercise for a Meagle. But why settle for just a typical walk? You can make your usual stroll more fun and interesting by adding a twist. Play some treasure hunt! The said treasure to be used in this activity is dog treats, which you will be hiding all around your walking path. With this activity, you get to hit two birds with one stone – you meet your dog’s exercise requirements and help stimulate their hunting instincts.

Step
1
Go for a walk
To start this activity, prepare as you would for your usual walking routine. Place your dog on a leash and leave the house. Find a walking path that has a lot of good “hiding” spots such as a grassy area or a wilderness park. This will make the game more challenging for your pooch.
Step
2
Start hiding treats
When you find the perfect area, start walking your dog. Along the way, make stops and call out your dog’s attention by waving the treat in their face. Then, hide a treat or two in various areas while your dog looks on. Your pooch will start sniffing around until they find the hidden treats. Keep repeating this until your dog starts to lose interest and gets worn out. Be sure to keep the treats small in size!

Drive-in Restaurant

One of the cons of bringing your dog out with you is that not all places are dog-friendly. If you feel like having a meal with your dog, order some food at a drive-in restaurant and enjoy your meal together in the car.

Stuffed Kong

The Kong is one of the best toys for keeping dogs mentally stimulated and occupied with minimal effort. All you have to do is stuff the Kong with some treats or even peanut butter and freeze it overnight. The next day, have your dog play with the Kong; this should keep your pooch busy for at least 30 minutes.

Conclusion

With their cute-looking face and fun-loving personality, Meagles can surely bark their way into any dog lover’s heart. If you are one of the fortunate people to own this lovely designer dog, just be sure to provide their daily activity needs, both physical and mental, to keep them healthy, satisfied and happy.Â
