Introduction

Pachon Navarros are unique in that they have a split or double nose. In the past, this led people to believe that it gave them better sensitivity to smell and they were the hunting dog of choice in their native home of Navarre in Spain. This is an old breed with an eventful history, and if you own one, you know how noble they look. Today, we know that their split noses are just a cosmetic feature, but that does not make them any less special or any less of a hunting breed. They are smart, friendly and need to be kept busy. Let's see how we can keep our Navarro Pointers busy.

Activity description
Your dog is special. You know that, but they need to be reminded of that sometimes. So why not throw a doggy-themed surprise party? You can invite all your dog's friends and surprise them with a bunch of their favorite foods. If your dog could, they would throw you a party every day. Besides, doesn't your dog deserve a party to celebrate their awesomeness? This activity will require a little bit of planning, but it will be worth all the memories that come along with it. And your dog will never forget how much you care. Just remember, since you're the parent you have to make sure that the party doesn't get too ruff (wink-wink).
Step
1
Guest list
Alright, first things first, who do you invite? Take your time to find all your dog's closest friends (if you are part of a doggie play group or are a regular at the dog park). If your friends have dogs they can bring them too. Although there is no shame in just throwing a party for your dog and your family. It's all about your dog.
Step

Activities
Besides eating, your dog and their friends are going to need something to do. Why not host the party at the dog park? Or at a pet-friendly location like a beach? You could also set up an obstacle course or plan some fun games for the pets and owners to play. And don't forget the food for the humans, too.
Step
3
Take photos!
This is going to be a day to remember. Take your camera with you and make sure that you get every single moment of it on film. When you're done, you are going to have a lot of great memories to look back to. But don't get so caught up with your camera that you forget to have fun with your dog.

Activity description
Pachon Navarros are highly intelligent and need to be trained. The fun thing about that is that you don't have to stick with all the same old tricks. You could teach them creative and complicated tricks that will keep the two of you busy for a while. If you have a sense of rhythm or just love dancing, why not choreograph a dance between the two of you? It might take a while to perfect and you will probably change some of the moves along the way, but it will be a lot of fun and something to show off when your friends come over.
Step
1
Choose a song
Is there a song that your dog seems to enjoy? Or is there a song that you think would suit the two of you? Either way, choose a song that you like because you will be listening to it a lot over the next few weeks.
Step
2
Plan the moves
Look around for inspiration. There are many tricks that you can teach your dog and train them to perform them via visual cues. You will also have to plan your own moves. Try to keep them uncomplicated, especially if you are not an experienced dancer. You don't have to choreograph a routine for the entire dance, just choose your favorite bit and create a dance.
Step
3
Dance your heart out
It might take a few weeks and a lot of patience, but eventually the two of you will be dancing like paw-fessionals (not apologizing for that pun). You're going to have so much fun that you will be doing this again the next time you find a good song. It also provides valuable training and cute tricks that your dog can use in other areas of their lives.

Activity description
The moments you spend with your dog are precious. They need to be captured and kept forever. Nowadays you can hire a professional photographer to do a photoshoot for the two of you without anyone thinking its weird. It isn't weird, the love between a dog and a dog owner should be celebrated. Also, if couple shoots are a thing then puppy photograph sessions should be a thing too. If you don't feel you need professional help, or you just want pictures of your dog, then do it at home and by yourself. The results will be pawsitively rebarkable!
Step
1
Set it up
If you're going to go with a professional photographer, all you have to do is phone and make an appointment. But if you do it yourself, then you need to create a fun set. Get some props (hats, giant sunglasses, that sort of thing) and your dog's favorite toys. Set up in an area with great lighting and a good background.
Step
2
Practice posing
Before the big shoot, the two of you can practice some fun poses. It might be a good idea to do this before the shoot so that you can get the best possible poses. But the best pictures will be the ones that capture the two of you genuinely playing and having fun, so don't worry too much if your dog won't hold a pose for too long.
Step
3
Frame Them
The pictures that come from the photo shoot will become some of your favorite memories. Do not let them be reserved for social media or let them gather dust on a hard drive. Print them out and have them framed. You'll smile every time you see the a-bark-able results of the shoot.

More Fun Ideas...

Boat Ride

If you live near a large body of water, it might be fun to rent a boat, any kind, and take your dog out on the water. If your dog is a fan of water or just relaxing with you, then this could be a fun afternoon spent together. Just make sure your dog doesn't try and jump overboard.

Go to the beach

There are many advantages of going to the beach. You can get out of the house and have a blast. Just be sure that your dog is allowed on the beach. You can let them off the leash and play fetch, or tug of war. You could even go out for some ice cream. Who knows? Your dog might love frolicking in the waves. All in all, a day at the beach sounds like a good idea.

Conclusion

A long time ago, someone looked at a Pachon Navarro and decided that they would make a good hunting dog based on their outward appearance. They soon become valuable hunting dogs and proved their worth. Only years later did we learn that their noses are no different from other hunting dogs, but by then they were loved for their personalities. Your Pachon Navarro is very special, and you can remind them of that by giving them your time. Throw your special puppy a party, take them to the beach or create a dance for the two of you. Make the memories between the two of you last fur-ever by organizing a photoshoot. But above all, always let your dog know that they are loved.
