Introduction

The Sealydale Terrier is a hybrid breed. The parent breeds of the Sealydale are the Sealyham Terrier and the Airedale Terrier. The Sealydale is said to look like a heavier Jack Russell Terrier, and this breed has a weatherproof coat, which means that you may want to devise a few activities around the water during warmer months. During cold months, the Sealydale Terrier is happy to engage in activities involving the chilly snow. Their weatherproof coat makes it easy for the two of you to have fun just about anywhere, any time of the year! This dog will also enjoy activities that simulate chasing squirrels or mice.

Activity description
The Sealydale Terrier is a natural in the water. In fact, one of the best ways to wear this high-energy pooch down is to engage them in aquatic games. No pool? No problem, you can grab the water hose, or, if you have sprinklers, you can turn them on and let Fido play freely in them. Grab a water gun and play a canine version of water tag. Headed to the beach? There are loads of fun, inexpensive (and interactive) things you can do with your canine companion near a body of water that promote bonding between you and your furry friend.
Step
1
Backyard water games
Your backyard is full of fun opportunities for aquatic fun for you and Fido! Of course, if you have a pool, there are certain games that the two of you can enjoy. However, a pool is not necessary for a good time. Do you have sprinklers? Turn them on and let your pooch chase the water. Fill up a water gun and let Fido try to catch the stream (this is usually the objective for your pup, anyway).
Step
2
Beach fun
A walk along the beach is beneficial for both you and your furry friend. You can dart in and out of the waves as you take a stroll. If you are at the river, you can practice dock jumping. (Caution: Be sure your pup is a good swimmer before trying this. Not all dogs are natural swimmers.) Sometimes just allowing your Sealydale Terrier to splash and play in the waves off-leash is enough of a treat for your four-legged pal.
Step
3
Other fun water games
Grab a tennis ball and throw it into the water. Encourage your dog to grab it midair, landing in the water. Put a swim vest on Fido and throw a few of their favorite toys in the shallow end of the pool. Encourage them to swim after one. If you are both in a pool, grab your float and relax together. Because the Sealydale Terrier's coat is waterproof, a few good shakes once you've left the pool will dry them rather quickly.

Musher's Wax
Booties (an alternative to Musher's Wax)
Activity description
The Sealydale Terrier possesses a weatherproof coat. This means that not only can the Sealydale Terrier enjoy water games during the warm months, but this energetic pup can also join you for winter games as well. The Sealydale doesn't mind joining you for a cool jog - just be sure to suit your furry friend with either Musher's Wax or booties to protect their feet as you play in the wintry conditions. You might have fun playing in the snow together as well. One surprising activity that you might take up with your Sealydale has to do with utilizing the pooch's nose. Pups can still practice scenting even in chilly conditions.
Step
1
Skijoring
Do you live in an area with a good bit of snowfall each winter? Do you enjoy skiing? A great way to combine your dog's walking with your love of skiing is to participate in skijoring. Skijoring occurs when your pup pulls you along as you ski over the snow. You will need to have worked on a little training before beginning, including the commands to stop and go. Practice in low-traffic areas before going out in a live situation.
Step
2
Play in the snow
Equipped with booties or Musher's Wax, have Fido join you and your family for some snowy fun. Encourage your pal to chase you as you participate in a snowball fight. Strap on a pair of snowshoes and do a little walking. The Sealydale Terrier has a great deal of energy and is happiest when they are able to work this off with sufficient exercise.
Step
3
Indoor dog park
Although the Sealydale Terrier has a weatherproof coat, even this natural protection may not keep them from getting too cold. In this case, take your furry friend to your local indoor dog park. Much like an outdoor park, the indoor park will have obstacle and agility courses in addition to a walking track. Some facilities may even have areas in which you can allow Fido to go off-leash and play.

Activity description
Because the Sealydale Terrier is equipped with a weatherproof coat, the author specifically addressed two weather conditions in which the Sealydale can find optimum exercise even in radically different weather conditions. However, one cannot ignore activities that the Sealydale can participate in during the more moderate weather months of the spring and fall. The Sealydale Terrier will need approximately forty-five minutes to sixty minutes of activity on a daily basis to remain healthy and out of mischief often caused by boredom. Some activities that the Sealydale will enjoy during the milder months include hiking, scenting games, and traversing through obstacle or agility courses.
Step
1
Take a hike
The Sealydale Terrier has a great deal of stamina. This stamina, along with the dog's high level of energy, make the Sealydale a great companion should you decide to head out on the hiking trail. The Sealydale will tackle the trail with ease, and they will provide you with a great companion as well as a guardian of sorts as you enjoy the great outdoors.
Step
2
Scenting games
A terrier is tenacious, and they never really give up on anything. This includes tracking a scent. Training your pooch to scent is easy. Select a favorite toy, then slice open a hot dog and rub the insides on the toy. The first time through, you might need to leave the toy in the view of the dog. Tell them to "find it." Then, as the dog catches on, begin hiding the toy, encouraging the dog to find it.
Step
3
Obstacle or agility courses
The Sealydale will enjoy traversing through obstacles and agility courses with only a little training. You might walk the dog through a course to begin with, and, as the dog catches on, take off the leash and let them have fun. You can visit your local dog park to practice, or you can make your own DIY agility course for home use.

Go for a Long Walk

The stamina which the Sealydale Terrier possesses makes them a great candidate for hiking, and it also makes them prime companions for long walks. You can choose to walk in your neighborhood, or you may enjoy taking the pooch to the local dog park and enjoying the walking track there.

Learn to Swim

When your Sealydale Terrier is young, begin teaching them to swim. Grab a swim vest, and start much the same as you would with a child. Hold the pooch underneath, and allow the dog to float and kick as you support them. Make sure that they are using both their front feet and back feet to paddle. Practice in the shallow end of the pool until you feel your pup is ready to swim on their own.

Conclusion

The Sealydale Terrier is a joyful dog to own! This designer breed is a great companion dog, and the two of you will enjoy many activities together. Better yet, you can enjoy these activities in a variety of weather situations and throughout all seasons of the year. The Sealydale Terrier's weatherproof coat makes them adaptable to a wide range of fun activities for both you and your furry friend.
