Activity description
Smooth Foodles are very loyal dogs and they attach to their owners quite quickly. While this can definitely be a fun trait in a pup, it is not always ideal if you are frequently out of the house. Smooth Foodles get lonely and really do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. In order to keep your Smooth Foodle happy, bring them with you whenever possible! There are plenty of low cost or free of charge places you can go with your Smooth Foodle in tow so grab that leash, pack a bottle of fresh water and get out there with your dog by your side! No matter the weather, an outing is a happy event for a Smooth Foodle!
Step
1
Dining out
Find a dog-friendly restaurant nearby where you can go to eat and just hang out with your Smooth Foodle. Many restaurants that allow dogs will also provide them with a fresh bowl of water, a treat or two and a comfortable place to sit while you eat. Dogs like a nice dining experience just as much as humans!
Step
2
Shop together
Many pet stores will allow your pup to join you while you shop which can be just as fun for your Smooth Foodle as a trip to the dog park! All the smells and new toys on the racks are enough to make any dog's dream come true. Be prepared to buy your Smooth Foodle a toy as they are sure to grab one from the shelves on their own!
Step
3
Car ride
If you just feel like getting out of the house and going for a drive, bring your pup in the car with you. Just getting out of the house and being with their favorite person (you) is enough to make any Smooth Foodle happy. If you need to leave your dog in the car, always make sure the temperature is safe and roll the windows down slightly so they get some fresh air (never leave your dog in a hot car or a freezing cold car!).

Activity description
Poodles and Smooth Fox Terriers, the parent breeds of the Smooth Foodle, both were originally used as hunting dogs, trained to find and catch small vermin and foxes. Since your pup has this hunting instinct in their blood from both sides of their heritage, they will love hunting games. However, you may not want your dog hunting for small animals in your neighborhood and it has also been quite a while since these dogs have been used as hunters. Your pup may not really want to chase a mouse but they will want to “hunt” in other ways! Set up one of these fun, more simplified hunting games that are appropriate for domesticated Smooth Foodles.
Step
1
Treat search
Have your dog sit and stay while you hide some of their favorite treats. Show your dog the treats before you hide them so they know to start searching as soon as you give them the green light. Once your pup gets really good at treat hunting, make it more challenging by hiding them in harder to reach places!
Step
2
Search and chase
Have a friend who owns a pet run a towel on their pet and then hide the towel in your house. Your Smooth Foodle will smell a new animal in the house and immediately try to find them. Once your dog discovers the towel, they may be a little confused but happy from the hunt!
Step
3
Friend Chase
While it may not seem like hunting, playing with another dog is a great way to allow your Smooth Foodle to use their hunting instinct and also get out some energy. By chasing another dog around, they will be mentally stimulated and energized - a perfect combination for a Smooth Foodle.

Step
2
Track race
Bring your dog to a fenced in area, like a track or big park, where pups are allowed. Let your dog off their leash (collar on) and encourage them to run! Your dog will have more fun if you run around too, chasing and racing them as you go. Being in a new and exciting space to run will make your Smooth Foodle quite happy.
Step
3
Fetch
If you aren’t keen on running with your pup, invest in some quality tennis balls or even a tennis ball thrower which will help you throw the ball even further than by hand for your dog to chase. You can sit back and relax as your dog runs after each tennis ball at full speed!
