Introduction

While this breed of dog is not going to be easy to fill out on your vet forms, they are going to be loving family pets that add so much fun to your home life. They are a cross between a Russian Tsvetnaya Blonka and a Poodle, making them small in size but large in character. They are also intelligent, love other pets and people, and have a deceivingly loud bark to alert you to people entering your property. The Tsvetnaya Blonka also originates from the Bichon family, meaning they are a relaxed, non-aggressive dog that is perfect for first-time dog owners. However, they still need both mental and physical stimulation to keep them happy and healthy. Here are a few things you and your Tsvetnaya Blonka-Poo can do together.

Activity description

If there’s one activity you need to incorporate into your Tsvetnaya Blonka-Poo’s routine from a young age, it’s grooming. Thanks to the Tsvetnaya Blonka parentage, this pooch will need twice-monthly baths and plenty of grooming to keep their long coat tangle-free and healthy. Thankfully, grooming is an activity (it's of average difficulty) that can bring you and your dog closer together. It also only takes an hour with a brush, comb, scissors, de-matter and bath products, while being suitable to carry out in any weather. It can be a significant investment in the beginning, but once you own all the products, it’s far more affordable than regular trips to the groomer.

Step
1
Remove knots
Some knots will get to the stage where you can’t brush them out. That’s the unfortunate reality of a long-hair dog that likes to play and go outside. Therefore, the first step will be to cut those knots out, and any tangles you know you will not be able to comb out. This process is relatively easy as all you need are scissors, but you may need a distraction, such as a calming voice, to keep your pooch calm.
Step
2
Brush and comb
Once you remove the knots, give your dog a treat to reward them for sitting through it, then begin using the de-matting tool to remove all those tangles that prove straightforward to do so. Use the tool over their entire body, then run through their fur again with a pin brush, before doing a final combing with a comb. You’re now ready for a bath!
Step
3
Bathtime
Your Tsvetnaya Blonka-Poo will need a bath at least twice per month, and maybe even more if they get up to mischief in your yard. Use dog-appropriate shampoo and conditioner in the tub to help their coat be as silky and as smooth as possible. You can then towel dry or blow-dry them on the lowest setting. There’s nothing quite like a soft and clean dog!

Activity description

When it’s raining outside, you may find it hard to entertain your Tsvetnaya Blonka-Poo. Fortunately, their Poodle parentage makes it possible to teach them new skills without too much effort or training. Teaching your Tsvetnaya Blonka-Poo to beg is one of them. Set aside 10 minutes twice per day for as long as it takes with a handful of treats. You will be pleased to know that teaching your dog to beg is free and will entertain both you and your fluffy friend. It can also lead to new tricks once you get the pattern of consistency nailed down.

Step
1
Engage
The first step to teaching your pooch how to beg is to get them to sit down and stare at a treat you hold at their nose. Once your pup does as you tell them to do – sitting and looking at the snack, tell your pooch to beg. The word beg will become your trigger word.
Step
2
Reach
When your pooch begins to reach for the treat, raise it, so they have to move their body upward to get it. Lift it slowly, and give the snack to your dog once their two front paws are off the ground. Once they are in the begging position, reward them with a treat.
Step
3
Repeat
The key to teaching your dog to beg is by using repetition. For 10 minutes twice per day, you can sit your dog down, tell them to beg, then raise the treat to encourage them to lift their paws. Given how intelligent this breed is, it won’t take too long for them to master the skill.

Hula hoop

Activity description

People could often teach Poodles how to jump through hoops with relative success, which is why it makes sense to teach your Tsvetnaya Blonka-Poo to do the same. In any weather, you can set up an area in or outside your home with a hula hoop and a pocket full of treats. In 10-minute training sessions a few times a day, you can then teach them how to jump through a ring on your command. It’s affordable, won’t take all that much of your time, and your dog will master it with relative ease. What’s more, it can open the doors for many other skills they may like to learn at a later date.

Step
1
Walk
Place the hoop on the ground, holding it up, so it forms the entrance to a tunnel. Hold a treat through one side and use a trigger word of your choice to get your Tsvetnaya Blonka-Poo to walk through the hoop. Once they walk through, use a positive, happy tone and give them the treat.
Step
2
Raise it
After practicing to walk through the hoop several times, you can begin to raise it – but ever-so-slightly. You don’t want your dog to get spooked by the sudden height change. Make it so slight that they may barely notice it. Repeat step one by getting them to go through the ring at various heights.
Step
3
Practice makes perfect
The key to being successful in teaching your dog how to jump through a hoop is by practicing. Repetition helps your dog to associate your trigger word with the action, so continue repeating step one at the furthest hoop height you can until your dog can carry it out with one fluid motion. Such a task can be both mentally and physically satisfying.

More Fun Ideas...

Walk

A Tsvetnaya Blonka-Poo is a small dog with a relatively low need for physical activity. As a result, a walk is more than enough to keep them happy. Their legs are also short, so instead of a one-hour walk for a large dog, you can get away with three 20-minute trips or two half-hour ones.

Chew Toys

If your family is having a lazy day, then don’t let your Tsvetnaya Blonka-Poo become bored! Instead, treat them to a few chew toys they can play with for hours. You will be pleased to know there are many options on the market – especially for small dogs. Treat them to a basket and load it up with toys that will always be available when your family doesn’t have time to entertain them.

Conclusion

If you’re a first-time dog owner with impeccable spelling, then you will enjoy adopting a Tsvetnaya Blonka-Poo. This small, affectionate, loving, and loyal lapdog is one that will become the light of your life. Even though they don’t have a significant need for exercise, you may still enjoy treating them to mentally and physically stimulating tasks.
