Learn the show game
Before you begin your training, visit a few dog shows to see first hand how the shows are run and what is expected of the dogs. When you find a specific competition that will allow your Wel-Chon to participate, be sure to know the rules through and through. Wel-Chon's have a lot of that Welsh Terrier energy and it will shine through whenever your pup plays fetch. Welsh Terriers were long used as hunting dogs, chasing small prey through fields for hours. Playing fetch is actually quite similar to hunting small animals, the ball is thrown and the dog has to run after it and catch their prize. However, regular fetch can grow repetitive.
