Activity description
Since Wel-Chon's are a mixed breed, they tend to inherit traits from both of their parent breeds. One personality quirk that your Wel-Chon may exhibit is separation anxiety and this stems from the Bichon Frise background (a breed notoriously known to hate being alone). If this sounds familiar and your Wel-Chon hates when you leave them alone, this activity is perfect for you. The main idea - bring your dog wherever you go! Taking your pup on adventures is pretty inexpensive and can be done anytime of year, no matter what the weather!  The only question now is, where to visit first!
Step
1
Cozy car
Before heading out on your adventure, get your car nice and cozy for your Wel-Chon. Put a few blankets in the back seat to make a bed and then have your dog test out their spot. Once they approve, roll the window down a tiny bit (just enough to let the good smells in but not wide enough for your dog to jump out) and get ready for your trip!
Step
2
Plan a trip
There are plenty of stores that allow pups to shop with you, making for a perfect (and productive) adventure. Many pet stores will let your Wel-Chon in the store where they can pick out their own toys! Some restaurants and coffee shops will also let your pups in so you can dine together. You can go on a new adventure together every day! Your Wel-Chon never has to be alone again.
Step
3
Look before you go
Before you head out on your shopping adventure with your dog, double check the places you will be visiting to ensure they allow dogs inside the store. Despite your pup's small size, many stores have strict policies about pets. It is always better to call and ask before you so that you and your Wel-Chon won't have your shopping adventure ruined.

Activity description
Maybe you have thought of entering your perfect pup in a dog show competition but were discouraged as Wel-Chons are a mixed breed of dog and many competitions are for purebreds only. However, don't give up! There are plenty of fun dog shows that allow all types of pups. That means it is time to train that gorgeous Wel-Chon of yours to be competition ready! Training a show dog takes a good amount of time but it is fun for you and your pup. You can start training any time you'd like and it won't cost much, just a whole lot of treats and the cost of show admission.
Step
1
Learn the show game
Before you begin your training, visit a few dog shows to see first hand how the shows are run and what is expected of the dogs. When you find a specific competition that will allow your Wel-Chon to participate, be sure to know the rules through and through. You'll need the right kind of leash, specific collars and even a certain type of treat to give your dog. Learn the rules and then you'll be ready to dive into training.
Step
2
Practice the walk
Show dogs need to show off their gait and also not be distracted as they walk around the ring with other dogs and people. Train your dog to trot along, by your side, and stay focused even if people or dogs pass by. You can practice this every day on your walks, just be sure to bring a lot of treats and reward your pup when they walk nicely in true show style!
Step
3
Touching and standing
In a dog show, your pup will need to be examined by the judges. Have a few friends and family practice 'examining' your Wel-Chon so they grow accustomed to being touched. Your Wel-Chon will also need to know how to stand still, legs together, to show off their body. For all of these actions, treat training will help encourage your dog and prepare them for the show! With practice, your Wel-Chon will be show ready in no time!

Frisbee
Ball
Activity description
Wel-Chon's have a lot of that Welsh Terrier energy and it will shine through whenever your pup plays fetch. Welsh Terriers were long used as hunting dogs, chasing small prey through fields for hours. Playing fetch is actually quite similar to hunting small animals, the ball is thrown and the dog has to run after it and catch their prize. However, regular fetch can grow repetitive. These new versions of fetch are perfect for owners and Wel-Chons who need a little something different but still want to play fetch. Pick a sunny day and head outside for this inexpensive, yet completely fun activity.
Step
1
Frisbee
While it may seem like frisbee is a lot like fetch, it has many differences. When you are able to throw the frisbee perfectly, floating it in the air for your dog to catch, it adds a whole new element to the game. Now your dog won't be grabbing the ball off the ground, they will be leaping in the air to snatch the flying disc. A new way to catch is always great fun!
Step
2
Automatic ball thrower
If you are tired of throwing tennis ball after tennis ball, then you definitely need an automatic ball thrower. Load it up with tennis balls and the machine will shoot one after another for your dog to chase. Not only will your Wel-Chon be having fun but you will also get a break to just sit back and watch your dog have fun - everyone wins!
Step
3
Team fetch
Wel-Chon's get along great with other dogs and they will love playing fetch with another pup by their side. Have a friend bring their dog over to play and toss a few balls to both dogs. Who will get the ball this time? Which pup's little legs will run faster? Your Wel-Chon will be determined to win for sure!
