Mini Bolonauzer Breed History

The Mini Bolonauzer is a new hybrid in the doggy world and is thought to have come on the scene around the mid to late 2000s. Not much is currently known about this hybrid and he is not yet recognized by any designer kennel clubs or registries. The Mini Bolonauzer is considered a rare breed as it stems from the Bolognese dog, a rare purebred breed that belongs to the Bichon family.  The Bolognese is considered an ancient breed that may have been in existence for over 2,000 years and was a favorite of many monarchs. The modern-day Bolognese can be traced back to a city in Italy known as Bologna. These aristocratic dogs often served as companion animals and mice catchers to wealthy people. The Minature Schnauzer is a breed that can be traced back to Northern and Central Germany. The breed was originally created during the 1800s by two Schnauzer and Affenpinscher enthusiasts who outcrossed the Standard Schnauzer with the Affenpinscher which gave rise to the modern day Miniature Schnauzer. The Minature Schnauzer was bred for the sole purpose of hunting vermin and protecting the flock; however, today they are mostly considered companion pets.

Mini Bolonauzer Breed Maintenance

The Mini Bolonauzer is not a low maintenance dog and owners should be aware that these dogs will require regular professional grooming The Mini Bolonauzer has long, dense hair that may be prone to matting. In order to keep his fur in fine form, it is essential to brush your hybrid's coat weekly with a pin brush to loosen knots and make the fur smooth. These hybrids can be prone to doggy odor; they may need to be bathed once or twice a month in order to leave them smelling their best. Some owners may choose to use a gentle dry shampoo or pet spray should their dog's skin be too sensitive for regular bathing. This hybrid is hypoallergenic, low drooling and does not shed. The Mini Bolonauzer is prone to dental disease. Because of the risk of tooth loss and decay, teeth should be brushed a few times a week. Ears should be checked and cleaned on a regular basis. Nails should be trimmed every 6 to 12 weeks.

Mini Bolonauzer Temperament

The Mini Bolonauzer is energetic, and an affectionate companion that does well in all types of family households. These dogs are easy to train and if socialized at a young age they do get along quite nicely with children of all ages, as well as other pets. The Mini Bolonauzer can be a bit bossy and rambunctious, and may chase the family cat if they are bored. These events are not often aggressive and are simply your hybrid's way of entertaining himself.  When encountering strangers at the door, the Mini Bolonauzer may be a bit protective of the house and will show this through excessive barking. However, once accustomed to the visitor, these hybrids tend to relax and make friends.

Mini Bolonauzer Activity Requirements

The Mini Bolonauzer does not require extensive physical activity in order to meet their energy needs. They are often quite content if they are walked 3 times a day for about 20 to 30 minutes at a time. These dogs can be quite social and are encouraged to participate in doggy play groups and off-leash dog park visits. They will enjoy a good chase of a ball, fetching, training, and hiking. Though this hybrid may be on the lower end of the scale exercise-wise, don't neglect allowing him outdoor time. If he becomes bored he can be quite a handful. Unfortunately,  many  Mini Bolonauzer tend to be barkers and so they are not suited to apartments or the urban lifestyle where neighbors may be disturbed by his love of being vocal.
