Introduction

The American comedy thriller movie, “Arachnophobia” was made in 1990 by Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall. The word arachnophobia is actually the medical term for the fear of spiders, and that is what this film is full of so if you don’t like spiders, you may want to skip this one. However, it was released by Walt Disney so it is not as scary as it may sound. In fact, a lot of it is funny with Jeff Daniels as a doctor named Ross from San Francisco who is afraid of spiders and John Goodman, who is a hilarious exterminator who helps Ross get rid of the pests in his house.

Arachnophobia Inspired Dog Name Considerations

Gone are the days when everyone’s dog was named Fido or Spot. Nowadays, you can find pooches with sophisticated names like Mercedes or Juliet or funny names like Bark Twain or Droolius Caesar. This is important now that dog parks have become popular. When you are at a crowded park and call your pupster, you don’t want to have a dozen dogs running to you. Having a unique name is a good way to solve that problem. Unique dog names also show that you think your furever friend is special because you spent the extra time to learn more about your dog before giving them a name.

In keeping with the “Arachnophobia” theme, you can find some pawesome names among the character list or the actors who play them. Fur example, Sheriff, as in Sheriff Parsons, is a cute name for a dog who likes to be in charge and Chance, who is the actor who plays Bobby Beechwood, is a pawsitively perfect name for any pup. In contrast, you could just go with the spider theme and choose Tarantula or Fuzzy for a furry pooch, Wolf as in the wolf spider, would be a great name for a wolfdog, or Charlotte, who is the spider in “Charlotte’s Web,” is a cute name for any female pup.
