Dog Names Ending in 'ue' in Pop Culture
Everyone has probably heard of the big blue puppy, Blue from her own television show, Blue’s Clues. Since 1996, this giant indigo pooch has been digging for clues with Steve, Joe, Periwinkle, Magenta, and their friends and having fun adventures every day on televisions across the globe. Blue is a mixed breed light blue dog with darker blue spots and a dark blue nose. She and her costars help youngsters learn colors, numbers, words, and other important things that kids need to learn.
Every day, Blue tries to tell Steve or Joe and their friends something by putting three paw print clues on things around the house. She is able to communicate with Steve, Joe, and their friends by barking and they talk to the audience while trying to figure out what Blue is trying to tell them. Sometimes she is trying to tell them what she wants to do that day, sometimes she wants to talk about her feelings, and other times she has a question for them.
Blue is an energetic and fun-loving puppy who never gets old, and although she is usually very happy, she has been sad or angry at times. For example, when Steve left to go to college in 2001 and Blue had to stay home with his little brother Joe, Blue was very unhappy. But, as time went on and she and Joe became friends, she is happier than ever, and Steve is soon forgotten. In fact, with all of Blue’s friends she has no time to be lonely. Some of her besties include Mr. Salt, a salt shaker; Mrs. Pepper, a pepper shaker; Tickety Tock, a cuckoo clock; Mailbox, a mailbox, Sidetable, a side table; and many more.
Sometimes, Blue has other friends over to visit such as Magenta, who is Blue’s best friend from school and her next-door neighbor. Magenta is a pink puppy who looks just like Blue only pink, and she has purple glasses. Periwinkle is another neighbor friend who comes to visit Blue. He is a lilac colored and white kitten that loves to do magic tricks and build forts. Turquoise is Blue’s pet turtle that Steve gave Blue for her birthday in season two in 1998.
Steve was the original owner of Blue, and he was great at figuring out what Blue was trying to tell him every day by using Blue’s clues, which is the name of the show. Most of his shows were about numbers and colors but later started focusing on more complex things like astronomy, anatomy, physics, and math. They also talk to the audience about helping, being a team, and getting them to participate in the game of finding out what Blue wants.
