Dogs Names that Start with 'It' in Pop Culture
Itchiford Dachshund, whose nickname is Itchy, is the Dachshund and one of the lead characters in the films “All Dogs Go to Heaven,” “All Dogs Go to Heaven 2,” “An All Dogs Christmas Carol,” and “All Dogs Go to Heaven: The Series.” This frightened poochie is always scared of everything but his best fur buddy, Charlie B. Barkin, a German Shepherd, is the opposite and drags Itchy along on all of his adventures. His name is Itchy because he has a bad flea infestation and scratches throughout all of the movies.
Itchy has a wonderful personality, and even though he is afraid of everything, he will stand up for his friends and can even be a hero if they are in danger. He is constantly wearing a torn green t-shirt and a red ball cap worn backward. The story of “All Dogs Go to Heaven” begins with Itchy helping Charlie get out of the city’s dog pound and although they nearly get killed, they manage to get away and go celebrate on their casino riverboat on the Bayou of New Orleans, Louisiana. The two find out that Charlie’s business partner, Carface, is the one who committed him to the pound and is planning on getting rid of Charlie so he can have the casino to himself.
Itchy talks Charlie into running away from Carface so he will not get hurt and Carface gives Charlie half the casino earnings to leave town. However, later that night Itchy sees Carface hit Charlie with his car and Charlie is transported to Heaven. But Charlie finds out from an angel that he can go back to Earth by rewinding his special golden watch, resetting his life to the point where he left. When Itchy sees Charlie he is scared because he thinks he is a ghost, but Charlie explains it all to him, and Itchy is just happy to have his friend back.
They soon find out that Carface has kidnapped a young orphan named Anne-Marie, who has the ability to talk to animals. They save her from Carface and use her ability to find out which horse is going to win the race at the track to make a bunch of money and buy their own casino. After Carface beats up Itchy and ruins their casino, Charlie uses his last life to save Anne-Marie from drowning, and he is accepted back into Heaven. Itchy and Anne-Marie are both adopted by the nice couple who helped save them from Carface. Although the movie “All Dogs Go to Heaven” had mixed reviews because of the violence and death, it was nominated for Best Family Motion Picture” in the 11th Annual Youth Film Awards in 1990.
Dog Name that Starts with 'It' Considerations
When choosing a new poochie, you have many things to think about. Similarly, choosing a moniker for your new pup is a big decision as well. You want a name that you like, but that also fits your dog’s fursonality and maybe even their looks. For example, if your doggo scratches a lot, the names Itchy or Itchies would be adorable. And you should take them to the veterinarian to see what is making them scratch. If you have an Italian dog breed like the Italian Greyhound or Cane Corso, why not name them Italian or Italia?
For that white doggo, Ithory is a good name because it means ivory in Greek and Itaas, which is Italian for red hair, would be pawesome for a red pupster. Ito is Japanese for stringy and seems like a terrific name for a thin pooch and Itidarod is another word for rookie in dog sledding and would be perfect for an Alaskan Malamute or Siberian Husky. You can also choose a name that means something to you. For example, if you love Italy or have an Italian background, give your pooch an Italian name like Italy. And if you like old cars, Itzel, which is a variant of Etzel (a classic automobile), would be great! We have found some terrific names to get you started on your name quest.
