Introduction

In 1979, director Ridley Scott collaborated with an incredibly talented team of actors, actresses, engineers, technicians, set designers, interns, and a slew of other professionals in the film industry to create one of the most poignant and enduring horror films of all time - Alien. In 2012, Scott returned to the cinematic universe he helped create in order flesh out and expand upon a number of concepts and ideas that he and his team lightly touched on so many decades ago. Prometheus was the result of that endeavor, serving as a prequel to Alien that was intended to ask as many questions as it would answer.

Prometheus Inspired Dog Name Considerations

Whereas Alien is a much more pure and primal film that's devoted to scaring the living daylights out of you, Prometheus is almost the antithesis of that - it's a slow burn of a movie that's filled to the brim with philosophical musings about where we come from and why we're here. You're not very likely to get spooked by anything that you see in Prometheus - at least not in the same way that Alien might scare you - but your thoughts might be provoked and you may end up reeling in horror at the philosophical implications that the film presents, as opposed to any onscreen gore or terror. Simply put, Alien messes with your senses but Prometheus messes with your mind. If you're into cerebral sorts of films then you may find yourself a huge fan of Prometheus. The film definitely isn't for everyone, but those who like the film tend to end up loving it the more they think about it.

Though Prometheus is very different from Alien in many respects, it still pays homage to its predecessor - largely by virtue of explaining where certain characters and concepts that showed up in the 1979 film first came from. If you're an Alien fan who liked the Engineers and the Xenomorphs quite a bit, then you may appreciate how Prometheus handles these benign groups of characters. Consider your pup's personality and looks as you seek a name related to the movie. Empress, Eloise, Ash and Yautja are just a few monikers to start with!
